My husband and I drove over an hour to eat here last night to celebrate my birthday. I had heard great things about it, but it was our first time in. This is the best restaurant I have been to in years and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an incredible dining experience.
Drinks: We each started with a cocktail, both of which were excellent. The cocktail selection was excellent, but what was even more impressive was their wine list. You can tell the bartender has put a lot of thought and care into the selections and they have lots of really interesting offerings (so much more than the same old boring pinot grigio and overpriced cab). If you're into wine, this place is a must-try.
Food: Because it was our first time here and we were celebrating, we went a little crazy. We started with oysters and some fresh sourdough with cultured butter. The oysters were impossibly fresh and great quality and the sourdough was delicious. We also had the green salad, pan con tomate, lamb meatballs, agnolotti, risotto al salto and the sour cherry tart (yes, I know that's a lot). I failed to take any pictures because I got too excited every time a new dish came out. Everything we had was wonderful, but there were a few particular high points. The salad was absolutely perfect. The balance of salt and acid was spot on and the sourdough croutons were more like larger hand-torn breadcrumbs. It is the green salad that other salads should aspire to. The meatballs were mind-blowing. Incredibly tender and juicy with the perfect level of spices running through. They were served with a celeriac hummus, marinated cucumber, shaved red onion and flat leaf parsley. Again, all the flavors were so well-balanced and the proportion of meatballs to hummus/veg was perfect. We almost didn't get dessert because we were pretty full, but decided at the last minute to try the sour cherry tart and I'm so glad we did. The desserts are all made fresh by the chef's mom and this sour cherry tart was excellent. Not too sweet, with a subtle almond flavor and the perfect ratio of fruit to pastry.
Service: The service was outstanding. Our waitress, Treasure, was a delight and so helpful with food and drink recommendations. Each dish was also perfectly timed so that within a minute or two of one dish being finished and cleared, the next dish would appear. This means we never had to awkwardly maneuver around a table crowded with dishes while trying to make room for the next thing. I have never experienced such impeccable timing from the kitchen, even at buzzy restaurants in Chicago.
I cannot wait to come back here. Lexington Social is an...
Read moreThis place is absolutely amazing! I could not say enough to articulate how great this place is.
I love that whether I want to dress up or come in more casual that I don’t ever feel out of place. Jon has created an atmosphere that combines and compliments all.
All of the service is above and beyond. All of the staff want you to feel at home and have a wonderful experience. The staff is attentive and always focusing on the customers and doing all they can to offer the best experience.
The bar is an absolute delight to sit at whether you are there to actually eat, just have drinks, or as a place to enjoy a cocktail before your table is ready. The drinks are absolutely amazing and marvelously curated. This past weekend I had the pleasure of enjoying their American Pie cocktail. It was a muddled cherry mixture from a local cherry tree with Elijah Craig, vanilla, and some other excellence, topped with a dirty cherry! I drank like 7 of these. The two mixologists behind the bar do an exceptional job and create such a welcoming space.
The menu items!!!!! All I can say is they are all fire!! Jon does an absolutely amazing job of creating exquisite and delicious appetizers and entrees. I usually always start with oysters that taste like I am sitting at a restaurant on the water on the east coast. Paired with his delicious sourdough bread, that he makes in house. The bread is next level. Then I move on to the appetizers! lol I laugh because most the time I get one of everything. I was never much of a foodie but when I go here I get to be surprised in the best way by combinations of ingredients that I could not even think of putting together.
The entrees, well, many times I just ask close my eyes and point because the entrees are all exceptional. The depth and richness of flavor always puts a satisfactory smile on my face, no matter what the universe chooses for me! ;) I had the sea bass this past weekend and it was buttery melting goodness. It was so tender and prepared and served so perfectly.
Then! The. Desserts! All of the desserts are exceptional and my absolute favorite is the lemon cake. Homemade! The lemon taste like fresh squeezed lemon. The texture is firm and yet when you bite into it the cake melts in your mouth. It is a perfect level of sweetness. You can tell it is a dessert and that as a dessert the real beauty is not covered by sugar.
Perhaps I am biased. lol I have been coming here for 4 years. It is like a home away from home for me. I cannot believe I have access to a dining experience like this as often as I do. The staff, the establishment, the food, and the drinks are all...
Read moreIf you’re looking for an unique dining experience, look no further! Lexington Social combines high-quality ingredients, talented staff, and a retro, post-modern environment wrapped up in a menu that changes often, and isn’t overwhelming...all in small town USA.
It includes an intimate, yet spacious dining room that allows private conversations to be had at the table without feeling too close to other customers, and well designed in terms of the layout. The drink menu has an unique selection of beers, wines, and cocktails that also cater to a variety of interests and taste buds. The menu contains dishes, that while unique and likely using ingredients/food you are not likely to experience anywhere in a 60+ mile radius, is diverse enough for a variety of tastes.
The desserts, all prepared homemade by the chef/owner’s mother is filled with powerful flavors that will satisfy anyone who is looking to satisfy a sweet tooth after a meal. The servers were well disciplined, attentive, and courteous. Their small-talk at the table was appropriate and catering to the needs of those in attendance. The chef and owner, made it a priority when having some down time in the kitchen to make an appearance on the floor welcoming people and asking about their experience; a friendly and nice touch for the patrons.
The restaurant itself was clean, appeared organized, and the seating was firm, yet comfortable. Pricing will likely be perceived on the high-end, but not inappropriate for the quality of food, service, and experience that you will receive, and certainly not as expensive as a similar experience in a bigger city. A perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, date night, or just to experience something new, while supporting local business and likely local farmers.
You won’t be disappointed with the experience unless you’re expecting food items that you can often get at mainstream restaurants or are wanting a “budget meal.” I highly recommend it, especially if you’re a foodie and enjoy trying new things while supporting local, small business owners, farmers, and...
