I went to place a carry out order, could not call it in since they were not accepting over the phone. When I arrived there were maybe five table with customers. And there were I think five servers. I had to ask for customer service to place the order, because they did not volunteer to assist me. I arrived there about 12:30. I ordered a Scrambled and cheese, with raisin toast, bacon, waffle and hash brown covered and smothered. Also ordered the All-star, scrambled with cheese, sausage, grits and waffles. I noticed there were no cooks. While I waited for my order, I noticed almost all the tables were not cleared of previous customers orders. The floor under the booths were covered with food and napkins. A man was sitting at the counter received his order Fiesta something while I was waiting for about five minutes. And another was placing his order. After 10 or more minutes, other customers came in. The man at the counter received his waffles after another five minutes, and then he received rest of the order, Scramble eggs with raisin toast and milk. Here I am still waiting for my order so I went up to check on my order. During my waiting, I noticed two cooks were coming in to go back to work. During the time waiting, I was patient. The other customers were rceiving their order, I am still waiting for my order. After another minutes, I finally received my order.
While paying my bill, I stated that I normally do not complain and then I got an earful by the waitress. She stated she was a waitress and had to do the cooking of my order. I did tip her before I received her complaining to me. I blame the manager as well as the cook for leaving for a break. There should have been at least a cook while the other cook took a break. If a restaurant inspector came in today, this place would have been graded with 10. The place was filthy. I have been patronizing this Waffle House for many years however today will be my last. Never been yelled at by a waitress. She should have complained to the cooks for leaving for a break during a very busy time. When I got home, the raisin toasts were missing. The food was unusually mildly hot. Which shows me my order was cooked within 10 minutes before I was given my order. I would say i was waiting for my take out for 20 or more minutes. The...
Read moreThis was a very sad experience. The cook was the best part of the service we received. She was amazing. However when I told the waitress twice that I was not receiving the waffles I ordered. And never did a check on us or offered a refill on coffee. Then the rude manager ask why I made her waitress cry? While I could see them in the dish area laughing. The manager was horrible. I have to put the blame on her because she is the manager rightfully so. Correct? I finished my eggs , bacon and hash browns. And the waffle I didn't order sat there and Never received the blueberry compote I ordered. I don't eat the corn syrup that the brought. Of course I was treating myself to a waffle and never received after 2 wrong orders were served to me. For it is a waffle house. Again the cook on duty was impeccable in many ways. She brought food and talked kindly to us. She deserves 5 stars. However the manager brought the score down to one. She got rude with me and my guest. Because she flat out lied to me and if I really did make the waitress cry for explaining the errors she and the manager are in the wrong business. The cook would be an amazing manager. I don't know any of these people, to be clear. And I have worked in many restaurants from coffee shops to the most expensive restaurants in the country. So I have a keen eye and I'm very fair. It takes a lot for me to complain. If I hear the cook is promoted I would go back next time I'm in Lexington. That would be the only way I personally would return. The waitress and manager need to take this report and learn from it. That's why I leave detailed and honest reviews. But the harsh attitude I experienced I can't see the server or Manager excepting this honest review. I didn't get or remember anyone's name but I was there 2 mornings...
Read moreDisappointing. As I sat down, I could hear the waitstaff comment about who had to take my order. The diner was less than half full, & most tables already had their food. Apparently I drew the short straw with the waitress who came to the table, as she barely spoke to take my order, & then plopped down my coffee & a handful of creamer without a word. The cook called out “order up” multiple times, & when I glanced in his direction he asked if my order contained an item - I responded yes, & he had to ask someone to take my food out. It seemed the staff were more motivated to complete chores behind the counter than serve customers. I had to ask the (different) server for a refill of coffee, & the butter I had indicated when I placed my order. After that, not one person came over to see how my food was, ask if I needed anything, etc. when I finished my coffee, I set the cup to the edge of the table to alert the staff for a refill - nothing. I looked up multiple times to try to get someone’s attention but there was no one in my area for my entire meal. After I completed my meal, the original server who took my order came & filled my coffee without a word, no creamer, set the bill fave down on the table & walked away. This is NOT the service I typically experience at Waffle House, which I only get to visit when I travel. I also noticed that other tables were treated similarly. Hopefully management takes heed of this review to talk with the staff & encourage them to treat their customers with...
