Waffle House — Restaurant in Lexington

I like the Waffle House. I ordered a double cheeseburger, and it was delicious as always. I couldn't give them more than 3 stars because of the condition of the place. Almost all of the tables were a mess. There were three tables that were occupied, the remaining tables were never busted and prepped for the next patrons. I'm talking 7 filthy tables with left over plates with food on them, drinks, the place was a total mess! The Waffle House expected the cook to not only cook the food but bust the tables and ring people up at the register. They had somebody to assist him, but it was obvious that he was intellectually challenged and the cook had to take a good deal of time explaining to the young man what he needed done to help him. I think he was supposed to bust the tables, and keep the place clean, but the place was a stinking mess, and I will not be returning to that Waffle House even though it's walking distance...

We went tonight 02/26/23 around 11:15 walk in to the restaurant and the cook was acting weird I think he was high he was talking to his self and shaking the waitress send him to the back it was us and an other table when the other table order they call him out he could barely understood what the waitress was saying, while the other waitresses was at our table bringing drinks and I told her to just go head and charge me for the drinks that I was not going to stay to eat she just look at me surprised she didn’t even ask why and I told her we are leaving because the cook doesn’t look right he look high she didn’t even try to say anything she just told me it was 9 dollars for the drinks… by the way the cook never changed his gloves when they brought him back to the kitchen.. bad bad...

We arrived a few minutes after 10am and a booth was available. By 10:15 we had received our coffee and water. A few minutes later we placed our order. As we waited we noticed a couple of customers enter the building, look at the menu and place an order to go...no problem, right? Except their orders were completed and they left before our order was even placed. The manager did not pay attention to the very disorganized situation. I will say the only employee that seemed to be trying to keep up with all the different duties that needed to be done was our waitress. But with her effort she neglected her tables. So, needless to say, we will definitely not be visiting the 1099...
