A beautiful drive out Bryan Station Road leads you to a scenic restaurant called Windy Corner. Located at the corner of Hume Rd and Bryan Station Rd. Surrounded by beautiful horse farms, you can watch the horses play as you eat! Today, we stopped by and had their banana pepper rings as an appetizer. Good coating and comes with ranch dressing and cocktail sauce for dipping. Very flavorful and I enjoyed them very much! Personally, they would have been better with marinara sauce (I didn't ask if they had it), but still very good. My wife and I ordered the catfish and also the chicken fingers and split them so we could have a fish and chicken dinner. Each was served with crispy and hot french fries. The chicken tenders were nothing special. Just your basic chicken tenders, fries and slaw. I believe that they were hand breaded in Wisenberger Mills coating. Small pieces, basically oversized nuggets of chicken breast. For a dipping sauce, I had honey mustard. Personally. They were a little over cooked, but it was your basic chicken tender meal. Nothing special. Coleslaw was bland and warm. Could use some black pepper, dill or other flavorings besides just mayonnaise. Needless to say, neither of us finished it. The catfish included 2 large servings of catfish fillets, 2 hush puppies, fries and slaw. It came with a remoulade Cajun style tartar sauce. Again, the catfish was coated in a Weisenberger Mills coating. Catfish was very bland and overcooked. Hush puppies were so overcooked, they were almost black when served (see attached photos) I think they had some jalapeño pepper or something inside them, but after one bite of mushy disappointment, I decided to pass on them. Just not good. The catfish may have been more flavorful if it had a lemon with it and wasn't so overcooked, but that's just a guess. Other observations: The waitress had no problem walking around to all the other tables, but never checked on us to ask how the food was or to be able to ask them for a lemon or anything. Ketchup bottle on our table was empty and we had to get one from another table. You would think they could feel an empty ketchup bottle when they wipe the tables, but I guess that's expecting too much. This should NOT be considered anything family friendly. The waitresses were talking about making Christmas candies and used quite a few cuss words in their description. Then someone from the kitchen chimed in during their conversation about F-this and F-that. Not a place I would want to take my grandkids or out of state guests! Conversations bounce off all the walls and can be heard anywhere in the restaurant. I hate leaving a bad review, but we have tried this place before and thought maybe we caught it on a bad day back them, but sadly, this place is just a mediocre, non family-friendly place that the drive is definitely not worth the difference. Pass this one by. Not worth the trip!

I took my family to this business on 3/14/23, and I was so looking forward to the food, and was under the impression that it was going to be a great place to eat. I was very disapointed to say the least. First way, way overpriced for very small amount of basic simple food, meaning it was not any that you couldn't get at any other mom and pops diner, or one of the common chains restaurants. For example, fries, (are extremely salty), chicken fingers,(not anything special, edible sure, nothing more), a kids cheese burger ($6.00) for a burger the size of a half dollar honestly. I had to order another for the child, so a plain regular size cheese burger is $12.70 after tax. Ridiculously expensive, and I told the employees that the children mini burger is way too small, and thought I might get a small discount on the burger I was buying but that was never mentioned which I was not surprised. So, to say I was disappointed in the business is an understatement, and I am obviously not going to return nor obviously I do not recommend this business. To sum it up, way to over priced, food was not even good over all, due to the being too salty, the portion\size was ridiculously too small, and priced way more than it should be. I am thankful at least that we had a great time being together with our family. I don't like leaving this kind of review, but it is as honest as I can be and I am happy to discuss it with any employee from this business that would like to discuss my review, just reply to my comment that you want to talk about it, and I will happily contact you. But if you are honest with yourself, you already know that I am being truthful, and it can be taken as I am incorrect and you have the best food and it is well worth it, or you can put up the pride and do what you know is right. I could tell the employees didn't want to hear anything about the small half dollar size of the kids burger, but the proper thing to have done was to at least offer a discount on the $13.00 cheeseburger I had to buy . Not even mentioned. Lee

Food Fun Adventure Saturday first took us out to the Windy Corner. I think this place is a neat looking place with a lot of outdoor seating. The staff is extremely nice. The food on the other hand is just not that good. We started with the fried pickles. The batter is not bad even if it was slightly salty, but they were fried to a golden brown. The pickles were thicker than most fried pickle orders and the outside skin was very tough and hard to chew. They serve them with ranch dipping sauce that was decent though. I tried the Windy Corner burger and I added bacon jam. The bacon jam was okay, but I like mine a little sweeter. The part that I found lacking was it was only on half of the burger and part of it dropped onto the basket soaking the bun and making it mushy. The french fries that were served with the sandwich were under cooked and mushy as well. We also tried the Catfish sandwich. It was overcooked and rubbery. The sauce they out on the sandwich really did not have any taste and only added a greasy taste to the sandwich. The same pickles were on both sandwiches, and they were still hard to chew. The bread however was not bad that the catfish was served on. The peanut butter cookie we tried was pretty good, and it is a huge cookie. This is the second time that we have tried this restaurant and I do not believe we will go back. Like I said everyone is extremely nice, and it is a cool looking place. I just do not feel the food equals the ambience or the location. Feel free to try this place out on your own. The fat man says it is Not Fat Man Approved.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Windy Corner was truly disappointing. From start to finish, things went wrong.

I have two young kiddos, including a 2-month-old, so going out to eat is a big adventure—as any parent knows. It’s even harder when a restaurant is not family-friendly or accommodating. We were there to celebrate my nephew’s elementary school graduation and wanted to support his choice of venue. Unfortunately, we left feeling upset and unwelcome.

While waiting in line, my 2-year-old knocked some menus to the floor. Not okay, of course—so we had her pick them up. She’s learning, and she’s two. All perfectly normal. When I got to the counter to order, I asked if they had kids’ menus. The manager, Doug, responded curtly that they “should have been back at the front somewhere” and was clearly annoyed by my questions. He made no effort to help or be kind.

Moments later, my daughter walked toward the drink counter and reached for the lids. My sister was right there at the fountain, so I trusted she’d handle it. But Doug rushed over, raised his voice at my toddler, and acted as if he needed to protect the area from my kids. I was shocked. It is wildly inappropriate for any staff member to attempt to discipline someone else’s child—especially when their parent is standing right there. He said nothing to me, didn’t acknowledge how out of line he was, and walked away.

When I sat down—still shaken—my sister stayed behind to calmly defend us and explain how inappropriate his behavior had been. My husband, who had been seated with our newborn during all of this, went to speak with Doug as well. Shockingly, Doug refused to engage with him and walked away three separate times while my husband tried to talk. Another manager, who was also present, seemed embarrassed by Doug’s behavior and apologized multiple times, admitting the environment was not welcoming for families.

The saddest part? My daughter later pointed at the counter and, unprompted, referred to Doug as “the scary man.” It broke my heart that my 2-year-old was made to feel unsafe by a staff member—and that no apology was offered.

Everyone has off days, but this went beyond that. It was a total breakdown in hospitality and basic respect. I hope management takes this seriously and reevaluates how families, especially those with small children, are treated here. We won’t be returning—and I can’t recommend this...
