Katie's Korner Homemade Ice Cream — Restaurant in Liberty Township

This is my absolute go-to for good ice cream. It’s definitely a carry out place. There is a few picnic tables in front of the store & a few in the rear of the business. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy your ice cream there. I usually get my double scoop mint chip waffle cone in my car. There is a very ample parking lot why you can park & enjoy your Ice Cream. The staff is always super friendly & polite, I’ve never had a bad interaction here. They seem to have at least 50 flavors of some amazing ice cream flavors. I’m a huge fan of mint chip, dark chocolate peanut butter & German chocolate cake. I’m also a massive fan of the waffle cone, which they make here. It pains me to make this review but I hope ownership will see this and make some changes. Ive been going to Katies Korner for 30+ years because I love HARD packed homemade ice cream. The last few years the ice cream quality has been extremely inconsistent. The majority of times I place an order the ice cream has been soupy and melted (basically soft serve). I went today and again, the ice cream was melted as soon as I opened it. I am switching to Jesy’s as I recently discovered them and their ice cream has not disappointed me so far. My family has went to Katie’s Korner for decades but the past visit was very disappointing. The owner was EXTREMELY rude when we asked for a replacement due to subpar product. I ended up just having to buy a replacement for my daughter which I was hesitant to do but when a child wants ice cream ... Regardless, her manner was very impolite and condescending.
