We live in the neighborhood across 747 from the restaurant and have been going to this location since it opened. I hate to give a bad review, but we have been so disappointed recently. A few months back, we were sat in the back area where families with kids are often sat. Great, we love kids. The kids, though, were largely unattended, literally running through the restaurant, physically tackling each other, once knocking over a chair, and when I came out of the bathroom, one pre-teen boy accidentally back handed me in the face during this rough play. The service and food were great, so we hated to leave our server and move to the bar to get away from the mostly unattended children running around. No big deal. We just decided we won't sit back there anymore. We stopped up a few weeks ago 30 minutes before closing. A hostess (or employee) sat us. We knew we were cutting it close and were going to let our server know we would be quick, and if the kitchen was closed, we would just have a beer, except no one ever waited on us. Plenty of employees past us over and over, but no one ever acknowledged us. Last week we went in again. This time we tried to make sure we go there in plenty of time before closing. It was a weekend night, so they were open later. We were told to choose a table and someone would come over. It seemed like the restaurant was already closed. All the employees were scuttling about, sweeping, cleaning off tables, walking past us without making eye contact. After quite a long time, someone did finally come over. She was super nice. Said it was her 3rd day. We ordered traditional wings, boneless wings and a house salad. The salad had lettuce and some cheese sprinkled on it, and 2 little tomatoes. It was supposed to have almond slivers, dried cranberries and feta. I asked for the traditional wings to be well done, but the skin was floppy and slimy. I could not eat the wings. We are so disappointed because this used to be one of our favorite go-to spots, and it is so convenient. Super sad to see it have gone so...
Read moreFirst, let me say that I never give a full 5 star rating for any restaurant on my initial visit. For this review, the 4 star ratings on food and atmosphere I believe were appropriate since it was our first time visiting. I broke my own rule on the service.
We visited Shooters for lunch a few days ago. I've never been there, but my mother (who suggested Shooters) really likes the place. I realize that this is a chain, but I was really surprised. I had the Hot Pepper Turkey sandwich which was, much to the chagrin of my cardiologist, absolutely terrific. I would order this every day. My wife had the "small" chef salad. It was quite a generous portion that she could not finish. She really enjoyed the fresh-made ranch dressing too. We actually brought it home with us. My mom, a creature of habit at age 85, had the cheeseburger. I think she finished her burger before I started on my sandwich. So we had a delightful experience and we will be back soon. I cannot forget one thing. In any restaurant, as wonderful and tasty as the food may be, the staff (and especially the server) can make or break the dining experience. Therefore, I'd like to acknowledge Emma. She could not have been more engaging and thoughtful. Thank you Emma! Also, a kudos to Chastity who gave us a tour of the place including their soon-to-be-completed event space. I wish the best of the future for Shooters...
Read moreOur server was great and the atmosphere is nice, but the food is very average to below average. I got an oriental chicken salad and the chicken was very dry and the greens didn't seem very fresh. Salads at Wendy's and Chick-fil-A are better. My wife's Ceaser salad was a bit better and the chicken was more tender. My brother got a burger and he said it was alright. My step dad got an Italian sub with side of chili and he said it was the worst he's had. The kids meals were okay. Just a small bowl of kraft mac and cheese and some fries. The loaded cheese fries were the best things and they were about a 3.5 out of 5 (I think it's hard to mess up cheese bacon fries). Seems like the type of place that might be okay to hang out and have a few appetizers and drinks if you live close by, but not worth the trip out if you are looking for something really good. I forgot to add we got an order of wings and they weren't that great. A 3 out of 5 at best, but probably would lean closer to a 2. The skin isn't very crisp and the meat seemed a little under done. The medium...
