The Boxcar Restaurant LLC — Restaurant in Lilly

I'll start by saying don't judge a book by its cover and I only say that because the outside is very unassuming. The inside of this establishment was clean and roomy. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing to enjoy a meal. The young lady that greeted us and took us to a table was very friendly and our server Tiffany was awesome, informative and attentive. We found the prices to be very reasonable and the food was amazing. We had a pizza and hobo fries along with a couple beers and our stomachs were definitely full and very satisfied. The pizza was great and the pulled pork with BBQ sauce on the hobo fries was really tasty with a little kick, also the beer was nice and cold. A definite hidden gem which we're glad we stopped at after our motorcycle ride. If your passing through Lilly, PA or just in the area stop in I don't think y'all would be disappointed. What a great place to have lunch. The restaurant is right next to the main lines and has lots of trains. Sadly you can't see them from inside, but you can hear them rumble by. There is a small outdoor patio for nice weather. Tiffany was super friendly and checked on me several times. The salad was very fresh and had several items on top of it. The Hobo Burger is a little spicy and well worth ordering. Their fries were fresh cuts and were spot on. The restaurant is very clean and the bathroom looked freshly remodeled. The inside is train themed and has lots of great pictures everywhere. The menu is very large and it was really hard to pick one thing. I am excited to go back and try something...

First thing we noticed was the menu had no drink options, so when we asked what the drink options were we got a simple “coke products” I hear the table beside us ask their waitress the same question and much to our surprise they carry our famous local tea we would have loved to enjoy! (We also had a toddler who luckily had enough in her cup from home) Our waitress was your typical angry old lady who sighed at the fact that I didn’t like my coffee as black as her soul when I asked for more creamer. All we ordered was French fries and a BLT (literally bacon and bread) and they completely forgot our BLT.
