I'll start with saying the waitress was very nice and the sexy roll sushi was excellent. The rest of the visit, though, left much to be desired. Most of the issues were due to a language barrier. We both ordered iced teas and asked for artificial sweetener as my husband is diabetic. I was brought a sugary iced coffee and he was brought unsweet tea(as ordered). She thought mine was simply sweet iced tea. When I pulled an equal packet out of my purse to show her what I meant by fake sugar/artificial sweetner, she was able to tell me they don't have any. She brought me a glass of regular tea the next time she came out. We ordered Beef Larb and chicken Pad Thai. We were brought two dishes of Pad Thai. She took the extra Pad Thai back and confirmed with pointing to the menu what else we were trying to order. Pad Thai was okay, but nothing to get excited about. Beef larb comes out and it is pretty much nothing but red onion. Even for my husband, who likes onion, it was excessive. (The menu lists it as green onion and shows nothing about red onion ..The green onion is what I've gotten everywhere else when I've ordered the same.) I pointed it out to the waitress and we looked at the menu together to confirm. By this point I had given up on the food, and ordered the mango sticky rice dessert. It was extremely bland. The coconut milk wasn't sweetened at all and there were no additional seasonings (some places add cinnamon.) When made properly, that dessert is phenomenal, so I was very disappointed. The waitress brought out the Pad Thai (that was made by mistake) in a box for us to take home to try to apologize for all the mistakes. She tried, and I appreciated that she was nice, but we were incredibly disappointed with the experience. We will be trying another one of the highly rated Lao Thai restaurants next time we are in Lincoln. This one has been removed from our list.

Genuinely one of the most authentic and delicious Thai restaurants that I've ever been to! I was passing through the city during a road trip, and it was such a pleasant surprise to find such a hidden gem in the middle of Nebraska. The restaurant really doesn't look like much, but don't let the run-down exterior and slightly sketchy neighboring gas station scare you away. The service is absolutely incredible; our server was incredibly kind, warm, welcoming, and helpful, and she was super helpful with answering our questions and accommodating my dietary restrictions. And the food...wow. Truly some of the best papaya salad and tom yum that I've ever had in my life. My parents thoroughly enjoyed the pad thai and pad woon sen, although the dishes were a little too salty for their taste. One thing I will note, though, is that Asian Taste's spice levels are pretty legitimate (this is definitely a spice level scale catered toward a Thai person's taste buds)...their "spicy" level is actually quite hot, so definitely be prepared for the dishes to bring on the heat. All in all, Asian Taste was (shockingly) one of the highlights of my trip to Lincoln, and if I ever find myself in the city again, I will definitely drop by again.

I won't go back. There was nothing "bad" about it, but I didn't enjoy my meal. We tried the fried beef meatballs. All the images are apparently of the pork, which look round. I've included one of the beef. We thought it looked tempura fried in the pictures. It's not. It was basically a flavorless, chewy, beef gyro chunk. The dipping sauce was sweet, but bitter. The chicken fried rice is definitely Thai styled. Since this is a Thai restaurant that's good, but I prefer Chinese style. Thai has less flavor to me. I ordered the Drunken Noodles with medium hot heat. It was overly sweet without the classic Drunken Noodle flavor that I love. The sweet basil was whole and strong. I enjoyed it more when I cut it into strips to spread it out between bites. As it was I had to add a fair bit of siracha to bring up the heat and combat the sweetness and I don't really like siracha so that says something. We were the only dine-in guests on a Saturday evening, but we heard several people come to collect to-go orders. The building is old. Clean, but it didn't make me trust it enough to try their sushi. The iced tea was good.
