La Frontera Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Little Rock

Me and my husband have been here before once last year around the same time during the fair. We stopped and got food before the fair and had excellent service and the food was amazing. So being back in Little Rock today we decided to stop by again but this time with our daughter. The girl was nice, our ticket showed her name was Maryury, she had a nice smile and all but it seemed like only my order was messed up. Or any request I had didn’t come out. I’ll like to add my husband is Mexican and I’m white, however we both speak Spanish. She approached me in English and spoke to me in English so I ordered in English. I asked for agua jamaica no ice, my husband got agua melón no ice. I had ice, he didn’t. When ordering food said no bell peppers and for corn tortillas. I had bell peppers and recieved flour tortillas. We didn’t send it back because we just wanted to eat, I ordered my daughter’s food, no problem. It came out correct. So I’m not sure why it was only my stuff she didn’t get correct. I’ll also state, we sat outside and only received service when being seated, having our drinks brought out to us, our plates being brought out, or for them to ask if we needed anything. We didn’t receive any refills or weren’t really attended on the entire time. The food was okay but it would’ve been better had my food came out correctly as I ordered. If we ever return I’ll probably just order in Spanish to avoid this problem. Our server we had last year though was phenomenal and we were just let down we get that...

Now I understand the race diversity I’ve seen in the reviews, which I understand clearly. But for me as a Mexican, this place is better than most of the places I’ve ever been to. I always come to Little Rock and after a while I look for restaurant to eat to but most of them always have a problem. Either their food isn’t cooked well or the place seems awkward. But this place almost benefited from my requirements.

At first, the place looked nice. I dined in and ordered a torta, but when it came to me they should make it soft because when I took a bite out of it, it was hard which was something I didn’t expect. Other restaurants I’ve been to made their bread soft either made from croissant bread or something familiar, but in here was baguette bread and that made sense. Probably for the caldos or something but oh well.

Besides that, I came back and ate a burrito and it was way better than the torta I had. It is a great portion size to make you full. But my favorite here is the fajita because you get a salad with rice and beans, and it’s pretty good.

This restaurant has a good selection of Mexican food but for me I think they make more stuff. Like at La Culpable, they have a great selection like a Carne Asada Fries. But anyways, service was great, they’re always there to greet us and get us a table. The only downside I’ve had is probably the food still, but it’s not a big issue as long as it tastes good.

Used to be my favorite restaurant - not anymore. Came in at around two and ordered lunch specials $7.95 each Monday through Friday. They tried to charge us nearly $3 more per special. One ticket was corrected and the other two were adjusted but were still about .50 more than menu price. Ordered a small guacamole and went to pay and asked if what I ordered was a small and she said yes. Then I showed the ticket and asked why I was charged for large. She argued with me and said I should have told her at the table we got a large instead of a small, like I ordered and she agreed that I ordered. I told her I ordered a small and she said I did not. This was after I tried to find out how I as a customer was supposed to know the difference in size from their larges and they’re smalls. She even asked me if I left any at the table and I said no I put the leftovers in here in my to go tray. Basically what I was getting at is I ordered a small for a reason because I knew I wouldn’t eat it all but they rang me up for a large and I had to pay three dollars more for that. I used to come here once a week and I’ll let the lady know that was serving me that I would no longer be coming back...
