The staff is friendly and the food is pretty good. Probably one of the most flavorful vegan food I’ve ever had.
That being said, there were 2 major issues. One being the wait time, the second being all the extra costs that wasn’t communicated clearly when you order the food.
When we ordered the food at 12:20pm they said it’d be about 45 mins. We came back 45 mins later and waited another 15 mins until they serve us a complimentary twisted potato. We assume they know we’re here so we patiently waited another 20 minutes before they came by to informed us that the food will be ready in 5 minutes. There wasn’t anyone else at the restaurant at the time aside from a few people coming to pick up their takeout orders. We waited another 15 minute before they finally served our food so altogether from order to service we waited an hour 35 minutes. I thought that’s a little ridiculous.
We wolfed down the food since we were so hungry by the time it came. We liked their burrito and fried plantain. The cauliflower wing and zucchini fries were just ok.
When we went up to pay for our food, for some reason one of our drink was extra even though the front desk staff implied that the meal came with drinks. Some sides were charged additional fees as well, which we weren’t aware. The front desk did tell us that it was her first day so perhaps that’s why the miscommunication. Altogether we paid about $40 for 2 meals, way more expensive than we expected, and stayed almost 2 hours just for a passing lunch. Clearly we weren’t super happy about the whole experience. I wish they’ll work out the kinks and keep promoting their awesome vegan food. In the meantime, I just wanna warn people of our experience and perhaps order from the phone...

I almost drove right past this hole-in-the-wall vegan delight, but I’m glad that I found it!
MeMe was alone here on a Monday for lunch (no chef help at first) with a packed house, but that didn’t stop her from smiling, cooking tasty vegan concoctions and warmly engaging with guests.
I was the first to arrive only a few minutes after opening and I had the pleasure of meeting MeMe. She told me about the history of the place, the food and her plans going forward. It really feels at home as the dining area is set in the back corner of a residential building. Shortly after I took a seat, several guests started pouring in, despite the onslaught of heavy rain at the time. This was a good sign on a Monday morning, with so much business, despite foul weather.
My order was simple, the Reuben, but wow, this sandwich packed a punch! For starters, it was so large and filled with ingredients (“cheese,” sauerkraut, vegan protein, sauce, etc.) that I did not trust myself eating it with my bare hands! I’m a messy enough eater as it is. The filling was very savory and a bit spicy, but I love my food to have a kick, so I was satisfied. I’ve had many vegan Reubens over the years, but this one was the most unique; clearly hand-crafted from scratch.
I also had a flavored iced tea that was pretty epic as far as tea goes. A perfect pair to the hot Rueben.
If you’re anywhere near Little Rock, I highly suggest that you visit! Support a local, growing business that has a passionate for food and satisfying guests.

Read moreI have been a vegan for the past two years, and as any vegan in the midwest may know, ita hard to find a restaraunt that truly brings the nostalgia of southern omnivore eating. I have been to many Vegan restaraunts across the midwest, and the south, from Louisiana to northern Missouri/Oklahoma (St Louis Kansas city are the only cities with full vegan restaraunts). Most of the time portions are small, or they try and overdo it with the whole "hipster" vegan vibe. As a military member, I do not lean towards that vibe, and have been hoping and searching for a place that is more my style. Home cooked, fresh, southern soul food. And let me tell you... my soul was singing. Meme's is hands down the best vegan eatery I have been to. If you want a truly relaxed , welcoming southern eatery, then this is your place. I had the Fajita nachos and not only were they the best Vegan nachos I have ever had, but the outright best NACHOS i have ever had. Everything is insanely fresh, as they have their own farm here in little rock. Do not be hesitant based on the outside, the reviews are true to the quality here. I will make the journey form Missouri to little rock JUST to eat here. Whether you are a vegan or not, you should try this place. You will not be disappointed!!! I would give this place 1000 stars if I could. Truly an enjoyable eating...
