New Years Eve Dinner at @Vernales in Harbor Springs, MI. This Resturant is located right off of M-119 in Harbor Springs, MI I got their New Years Eve meal for take out and it did not disappoint 🤤 Appetizer: Tenderloin Bruchetta Salad: Farmed Main: Surf and Turf Dessert: Crème Brûlée Everything was delicious! If they do this again next year I recommend you checking them out! Or you can stop in any time after 11:30am for a bit to eat! I highly recommend their burrata Bruchetta. #surfandturf #steakhouse #harborsprings #michigan

We enjoyed a nice anniversary meal here. We really splurged getting some of the most expensive items on the menu. My husband said it was the best meal he's ever eaten (which surprised me because the place that previously held that title was in NYC). The blackened steak tip appetizer was great, and the bread and pesto really hit the spot. My husband raved about the tomahawk steak. *The only negative was that they brought out a large platter with "Happy Anniversary" written on it and two small cannoli, which was great until I realized we were charged $8 for it and hadn't asked for it. We only realized the charge after we left and it was disappointing, not that we couldn't afford the charge, we spent over $300 on dinner, but that it seemed like it was a gift to us and wasn't. Anyhow, the food was good, and I'd recommend- but if you're going for a special occasion and aren't interested in being charged for the special plate maybe not mention the special occasion or at least check your receipt. I am hoping that the charge was in error and that they don't typically charge for this.* *About a week after our meal we received a letter and gift card in the mail apologizing for the charge and saying that we should NOT have been charged for it. That was a nice touch, and I appreciate that they reached out to make it right.

Me and my SO came here for our 3 year anniversary. The Hostess (Who's name I am forgetting sadly, but she rocked!) Set us up with her favorite table, it was in a private enough corner next to the wine room and was perfect for me and my SO to enjoy each other's company. Travis was our server and talk about just amazing service, he was so polite, talkative, informative and just fun to interact with. His timing was perfect, he knew when to ask if we wanted more drinks, when to fill our water back up, he knew when we were talking and to come back and not interrupt. Honestly it was a delightful experience, the service alone earned the five stars. The food was fantastic as well, my SO had the Skirt Steak special and myself the NY Strip, both were delicious, prepared exactly how we asked (Med Rare of course!) And overall fantastic. To top it all off we had the Key Lime Pie and Travis added a special little nod to our 3 year anniversary. We will absolutely be back, I suggest any one else consider Vernale's for a special occasion, or even just for a great meal with fantastic service.

Do your self a favor Go somewhere else from a dinner tab for 2 well over $200. FYI This is from two people that love to cook ourselves So Let's see now with at least 10- 15 empty tables they seat my brother in law and I in the " wine room" at a small bar type table that faces the kitchen and is next to the service bar. The first thing the waiter Scotty does is spill water on my lap and does not seem all that concerned and takes away the menu and has to be asked to wipe the table dry. Then has to be asked for the menu back. I could go on but let's address the food the ceaser salad dressing both of us were sure was store bought ( I usually like to make my own) then the garlic cheese bread that I think was just slightly garlic bread that had cheese on top had dipping sauce just like if you went to Little Ceasers sad each of us had 1 piece and were done with it. My Prime Rib for the first time in my life had gravy not aujus "from a jar I am sure of" on it that I had to scrap off only to find a flavorless piece of meat (now I know why the gravy). The waiter does not ask how is everything until the end of the meal almost. FYI my brother in law had a Woodford Old Fashion I had to ask a waitress walking by for another Stella. I still not sure about this but some random waitress says ranch dressing and puts a tub on our table and just walks away??? My bother in law did bring the remainder of his $99 tomahawk steak asked for rare and received medium steak home for my sister's dog who lives two houses down the lake. I could go on but this has already wasted to much of my time (this is just a heads up for...

Worst dining experience in our 30+ years visiting petoskey for vacation. Very poor value as way overpriced for what you get. Poor quality beef at high end chop house prices. Inept and standoffish staff, from the greeters to the servers. Refused to seat us in the bar area despite many open tables, just because we had a reservation. We offered to give up our reservation to be seated where we wanted, but still refused. They forgot the bread that they say on the menu comes with meals, then acted like they were doing us a huge favor when we finally asked about it. They did not replace a steak that had a huge piece of gristle running right through the center and was over cooked, then were very argumentative when we politely asked why. We Had to ask for drink refills multiple times. We were surrounded by loud and unruly crowd. Whole experience literally gave me a headache. And to top it off, they counted our toddler as an 8th adult so they could add on their own gratiuity, which was way more than their “service” deserved. Will never go back.

Update: Please see response from co-owner below that is as disappointing as our experience at his restaurant. It will tell you everything you need to know about the thoroughly flustered and dishonest operation of their establishment, from the top down. Their time would be better spent improving their product. In that endeavor, I wish them...

I was excited to finally try this place after visiting the area two other times. Unfortunately, the restaurant did not meet my expectations.

Our table had pieces of food on it from the previous diners, and instead of apologizing for seating us at a dirty table, the hostess rudely said we couldn't sit anywhere else because the other (empty the whole time we were there) tables were for groups of 6 or more. I didn't even ask to move - I just told her the table was dirty. That should've been my clue to walk out.

The food was average, at best. My fries had a large dark hair cooked in them (I'm blonde - wasnt mine), underneath the fries I ate. It left me not very hungry. Our server apologized and took my plate away right away once I told her. The second plate of food had cold, soggy fries and were not edible as they were. The burger was average. The table next to us (a different server) didn't even get the 4 meals they ordered. The guy who got the wrong item was gracious and just ate what the server brought out. I'm not sure if they were all just having a bad night or if that was the norm for them.

Very disappointed in this meal, especially for the cost (over $100 for 2 people - no alcoholic beverages). We had two other dinners on this trip that cost less but were much higher in quality and taste than this meal. Don't waste your hard-earned money here -...
