My husband & I decided to go to Bob's Place for our dinner date night, our waitress was Jill she seemed friendly enough but she not a very good waitress. She took our drink order, I heard that they had great bloody marys so I ordered one without all of the garnish just a pickle he ordered a busch light, when she brought our drinks my bloody Mary had a lemon wedge the pickle I wanted along with a skewer with an olive (which I don't like) a jalapeño and a crusty chunk of pepper jack cheese, she told me that they had a bloody Mary bar & the bartender was trying to get rid of stuff (WTH). First off just bring what I ordered and how long had that stuff been sitting out? It tasted like it was pure Zing Zang or what ever they use. NOT GOOD. I ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich with ranch she brought blue cheese which I don't like, the sandwich was really good, HUGE chicken patty, my husband ordered tge French dip it didn't come with cheese, we also ordered cheese curds which she completely forgot we had to ask for them again. She never asked how everything was, she never asked if we wanted another drink. She spilled a glass of water on another couple. The table next to us were there before us, she took our order first, she brought the husband & sons food out 10 minutes before the wife's food & her order was messed up Jill asked if she wanted her to take it back she said no she would eat it. When she brought "our" bill it was someone else's that had already paid. When we did get the correct bill my husband said "watch she won't bring my card back" guess what, she didn't bring his card back she said the cards always slip out, then WHY wouldn't you check to make sure it's in there? We won't be going back. We'll stick...

We were in on Thursday night. The food was great but our waitress was terrible. She was an older woman with glasses, she scolded my nephew who is 3 because condensation on his cup caused his drink to fall from his hands and spill, she accused him of throwing it on the floor and removing his lid, she also didn’t notice it had been spilled for nearly 20 minutes and that my sister and I were out of our drinks, she never checked to see if we were enjoying our meal, if we needed anything else, she was quite rude and very unfriendly. I really take offense to trying to discipline someone else’s child with the parent sitting right there, especially when not aware of the situation. For $70 for 2 adult entrees and a kids burger I would have at least expected a refill and a 2 bite check and to not have my nephew berated by a complete stranger. I contemplated leaving a 0 tip but I left $10 out of kindness but the service deserved 0 stars.

I should mention my family lives in Alanson. We have lived there for 30 years. We used to go to Bob’s when it was owned by the old owners as well. Bob’s lost a local family’s business by the way that server treated my nephew. I know it may not seem like much but locals are the ones that keep small businesses afloat in the off season, they make or break a business and being rude and giving lousy service to a local is sure fire way to lose their business. It doesn’t matter how good the food is if you get...

We stopped here for lunch and wanted to look at the salad bar to see if we wanted some soup and salad. After sitting back down we asked the price which was $15 no big deal. My father made a comment that there wasn't enough protein at the salad bar. As we were speaking the chef came up to us and started scolding us that there's enough protein in the salad bar. I understand that he takes pride in the Food he cooks and prepares but it wasn't his business to tell us what we thought. I made another comment and he came around from the side of the bar like he was going to become physical he was very aggressive. I always give people a break but this is unacceptable. 99% of my reviews are good The only time I put a bad review is when I come across something pretty bad. I would definitely suggest steering clear of this establishment just cross the street and go to jerk in Depot restaurant much better also much nicer people. I'm sorry but bobs is not at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant where he's going to scold us on what we like and what we don't. Granted there is no way I can judge the quality of the food because we didn't even make it that far The waitress seemed quite nice as well. Just the chef and a man next to him at the bar were the ones...

Stopped in to this cute, clean place for a late lunch while traveling thru town. Mandy was a great server. All our needs were met, and some! She is quite the talker! Lol We each were vary happy with what we ordered. All were yummy tasting, made from scratch home cooked meals. I had the fried Cod fish sandwhich, large filet cooked perfectly - and lightly battered - by hand I may add. My hubby had the beef strognof- his description was that it was REALLY good ( and I would say he is a beef strobnof snob). Our friends had a double smash burger - she said it was very flavorful, ( and finger licking good!) but she would have liked the patties "more smashed and thinner" - the burgers severed were kinda like a regular patty. Her husband, Bob, had a Classic burger & steak fries. - he said both were cooked to his liking and tasty. Unfortunately, our friend Bob didn't get any discount for having the same name of the restaurant, but we did take his picture under their sign! ( Just to make him feel special!) We all give this place a thumbs up and would stop in at Bob's Place again for another meal if passing thru Alanson, MI in our future travels. Thanks Mandy, for an enjoyable experience and serving us some good food!

Parking could get hanky on the busy season. We stopped in at the end of February around 10am. We got a parking spot right or front but it quickly filled up. We were shown the specials board and tools to seat wherever we'd like. We opted for a table by the window to watch the traffic from highway 31. Waitress came soon afterwards to take our drink order and then returned to take our order. I ordered the Monte Cristo special and hubby ordered the burrito. Mine was delicious with the french toast, but it wasn't breaded but still yummy. I works definitely order this again. The home fries were crispy and seasoned well. The burrito was good and filled with meat and cheese. He got it topped with beer cheese and liked it. Prices are average, $13 for the Monte Cristo and $11 for the burrito. Love trying out local places and this one is a winner...stop in for good food and friendly service.

Lovely small town restaurant with a family atmosphere. Decked out in country/outdoors decor, Bob's place is welcoming and warm. The staff seems extra nice and greets you with a relaxed but efficient atmosphere. But the real star here is the food! We had dinner and ordered the Honey Battered fried chicken, the Prime Rib French Dip Sandwich, and the Spaghetti with meatballs. The chicken was crispy crunchy outside but juicy, tender, and flavorful inside. The French Dip was one of the best Ive ever had. The meat fell apart and was rich and tasty. The spaghetti came with huge homemade meatballs and was tangy spicy and zesty! Really good! We were all super full from the generous portions. Even the bill was easy to swallow. We will definitely return when we are in the area again. Thank you!
