The Live Oak Gathering — Restaurant in Live Oak

This is my go-to for Burgers & Sandwiches. I'll start with the bad, there is not much. The seating has no cushion, becomes uncomfortable quickly. There is no sound absorption, can get loud. Upstairs, no thanks. Do NOT order Steak or Prime Rib.

Now on to the Good and GREAT!

The Good: The atmosphere is good, clean, and casual. The service staff is friendly and attentive, mostly. Some are better than others. They have a "Full Bar" with a specialty drink menu. The drinks that I have had taste good. They are however overpriced and lacking in alcohol content, for this reason I order Tea, which is good.

The GREAT: "Fried Mushrooms" Fresh chopped, hand-breaded, served with Ranch for dipping. I rank them with the best I've had. "Chicken Tenders" hand-breaded just like the mushrooms, delicious. "Burgers" Hearty, cooked to order, Juicy and Delicious. My favorite is the "Patty Melt". You will not be disappointed. "Sandwiches" freshly-made, substantial, excellent. I love the Reuben, I can't recall one that's better. "Fries" hot and fresh everytime. One order is enough for two people, so we like to get coleslaw with the second sandwich and share both.

I highly recommend this place for the GREAT items that I have...

We missed the Live Oak Gathering for the few years they were gone and we were so happy to hear that they were back in a new location. They did an awesome job with the new location and they can accommodate so many more tables. The place was hopping when we stopped there for late lunch on Saturday April the 9th, sometime after 1pm. There was a line at the door and out the door. The food was great, the service was on spot and the atmosphere was jovial. The prices were a bit higher than they had before but this is going to be a new normal with most restaurants. We overheard someone complain about the prices. Sorry to say but a couple of the other restaurants in town have raised their prices quite a bit as well. So, I wasn't surprised by this and you can't go by what the prices were a few years ago. The Reuben I ordered was melt in your mouth delicious. Our daughter had the steak which she devoured and my husband had the cheeseburger. All of the food was delicious, our appetizer was hot and tasty, as it was the bacon & cheese fries. Those servers were going and going, up and down those steps and making sure the customers had anything...

Oh. My. Goodness. This was hands-down the most AMAZING dining experience of my life!! From the very second I walked in, I was greeted by Zackk.. young, bright, full of energy, he absolutely lit up the room! He wasn’t just a host… he was a walking ray of sunshine that instantly made me feel welcome and happy to be there!

Then came Addy, my server. An absolute sweetheart! So kind, so attentive, and genuinely radiant. She made everything feel personal and special.

Now here’s where the magic happened… I came in craving something that wasn’t even on the menu. Most places would say “sorry”, but not here. I spoke with Timothy, and WOW! He and his incredible kitchen team didn’t just listen, they delivered! They took my nacho dream and brought it to life with love, creativity, and flavor like I’ve never experienced before!

And let me tell you… the homemade tortilla chips? OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD. Crunchy, fresh, flavorful, literally perfect! I was blown away by every bite.

This place isn’t just a restaurant.. it’s a magical, joyful, flavor-filled paradise! I left floating on a cloud of happiness. I cannot wait to come back, this place...
