Anastasia and Katie's Coffee Shop & Cafe — Restaurant in Livonia

I love coffee and I love to support local coffee shops. I decided to give this place a try so I drove 25 minutes. Absolutely disappointing. I ordered a large iced vanilla Is latte. Simple. When I received my order, all I can taste is milk. A large iced latte drink normally has 2-3 shots of espresso depending on brand of espresso. This tasted like they forgot to add the espresso or only used one shot. It was terrible and I was extremely upset. Could not taste the coffee at all except milk and a little sweetness from the vanilla. I'm not exaggerating at all. I was very close to getting down and asking for another shot but the lady that worked there (assuming she ran through place) was very rude, not smiling or welcoming at all. I felt very awkward even after she handed me my drink. I spoke to a gentleman who seemed new and was being helped with the drink by the lady so I'm assuming they forgot the shots of espresso. The vibe and energy of the lady was not it at all. Just a word of advice,smile more and look like you're excited to be there. It makes a huge difference. If I felt welcomed I would have gone back to try something else. But just that in general made me not want to go back at all. I went based on the reviews, but the reviews are old. A hidden gem in the Livonia area. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by staff in an extremely warm manner and loved the interior design. Everywhere I looked, something new caught my eye. Love the whole meaning behind this shop, that it openly advocates for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and supports an inclusive and supportive environment that in turn supports the community.

I went with the Unicorn Hot Chocolate and was very impressed with the taste. The marshmallows and sprinkles on top was such a sweet touch and I loved that the temperature wasn't boiling hot.

I am very excited to try out some of their other MANY menu items and urge you all to give them a try if you can! Wonderful owners, employees and the menu is so unique...

Today was my first time visiting your place and probably the last. 👎 Most of the reviews were from 2-4 years ago, so I decided to visit and see for myself. I ordered the croissant & coffee combo. I tried 2 out of the 3 coffee varieties offered in thermos style pump canisters and found neither drinkable. I returned the first coffee back to the counter and left the second cup on my tray. The wait time for my crossiant sandwich took a looong time to arrive. I don't know what the hold-up was as there was only one order ahead of mine. The staff was pleasant except for Mary.
