I have mixed reviews. I love the store purpose, products, and location, but the staff from 2/14 around 11am was totally inappropriate and ridiculous, seems they hired adult children to work there.
I get that there is a huge decline in teen moral but I won’t be back for a while after my last visit.
I walked in and two teens were playing catch with loaves of bread while stocking. Picture squeezing the loaves before being placed on the shelf. I mentioned people take this home and eat it. I picked out a couple from the back that weren’t indented with thumb compressions and then I thanked them for having the Oatnut in this time.
They didn’t reply and so after a few seconds of being treated like I was their enemy I said ok no reply to the paying customer, how nice. Pay them and parent them and get ignored, nice employees. Then the first girl asked the other did he say and the second girl said oh nothing he is just being rude. What has society turned into. Then when I mentioned it to the older cashier, (apparent supervisor) she asked them not to play with the food that is for sale. I thought that was actually a nice start. However, I mentioned the dimples in the products and the cashier then turned faces and said they came from another store before coming there. So in my head I’m thinking it’s totally unrelated to what was witnessed and that she had allowed to happen before I came in. There was nobody else in the store so she had nothing else taking her attention. When I mentioned to her that they said I was being rude she lightly mocked me and told the girls they should be ashamed of themselves. I didn’t think it was that serious so I just couldn’t comment anymore as that wasn’t my opinion and started picking up on the tone that I was some how at fault.
I mean I’m all for having fun at work to help pass the time. While I was a teen I got pulled into many dough ball fights at the pizza joint. But we didn’t do it in front of customers and we didn’t sell that food later on.
They should bring back the staff they had before covid and if the girls are so board maybe just have 1 employee stocking and 1 on the register. I mean lifting bread doesn’t require two employees making $13...
Read moreIt's good to be an Uber driver! Been looking for a bread store/bakery outlet in the area for months with no luck. Finally resorted to Google Maps and found two in SE Michigan, here & Flint. When I got a ride to Livonia it triggered that memory so I jumped on the opportunity. The folks were polite enough and they were constantly stocking the shelves but those shelves are a bit bare, about 30% filled. I bought enough to fill my freezer so I'm set for a couple of months. I bought 6 loaves of bread, 2 pkgs of English muffins, 2 pkgs of bagels & a box of 24 cupcakes (never shop hungry!). Everything was 2/$3 except the cupcakes ($10, stupid, delicious impulse buy). Now if there only one in...
Read moreWow .... so sad that the staff are so unfriendly.. ask a question and 1 word answers .. is there a good day to shop with fuller shelves? she said No .... does the selection change often? Yup ... was all we got. If my employees were that rude i would find new ones... a sign on a register they don't use "defiantly not a register" wouldn't closed sign be sufficient? Empty shelves .. bad attitudes .. I'll find another bread store ... Update: our bread was stale day 2 .. muffins I bought were...
