We have tried this Mexican restaurant out so many times since we are literally 3 minutes from it. But it has been terrible every single time. Even when they first opened. Every one else around us rants on how great it is, but if you go try Mexican food in Fultondale or Gardendale, then go eat in Locust Fork..you will see the real difference. I just don't think a lot of people around here know what AMAZING (american) Mexican food taste like lol because it was so bad one time my daughter wouldn't even eat it. Kids eat ANYTHING! So we just skip this place and make the 30min+ drive for better Mexican food if we want it. If you're wondering why it was so bad for us let me know in the replies or ask a question and I'll try to answer it. I only rated two stars because at least my drink was good. Even the chips and salsa were terrible. 🤷♀️😭 We actually are upset about it not being good because we eat Mexican food SO much, to have one literally, so close. Amazing. But we were let down. A lot. The first owner needs to open back up! They were amazing! I think her name...

The wait staff knows English and a couple of them know English as a second language so it is not always clear but learning a different language is tough. The chips are fresh light and crispy the salsa is okay but better than most of your normal Mexican restaurants cheap table salsa. The cheese dip is great because it is not watered down like most other places... The food came out relatively quick, hot and good. I got the chef burrito and if you like chorizo it is great and made with fresh cooked chicken... The last thing is that this place is in locust fork!!!! You are so lucky to have a restaurant like this in the middle of nowhere. I will come back here and try other things but you can tell there is one cook making all the food so from someone that has been in the restaurant business for over ten years give them a break and if it takes too long make it yourself or go somewhere else don't bash them because you don't know a thing about this industry. Great small restaurant with good fresh cooked food. Keep...
Read morePositive side is the owner and waiter was nice The nachos, salsa & cheese was the only good thing about this place. The tea tasted like it was made out of Splenda or either old I don’t know honestly, The Bistec Ala Mexicana was honestly horrible, like it was Mexican mixed with American. Steak was chopped up like taco meat where it’s suppose to be in slices, there was no “ salsa” smothered on my steak , it was water and tomato paste. It has cubbed jalapeños that wasn’t even fried with the meat , with very little onion in it, no garlic 🧄 what so ever. No taste. The meat wasn’t seasoned neither was the “ tomato paste water” they call salsa…
Rice was good Beans was not. Pretty decor inside the restaurant Cheese dip was “warm” when we got it but quickly got cold. But it was still good.
I won’t be back. Save your time and drive the extra 10 mins to go to the Burro Loco...
