This is my second time ordering food from here. The first time was a few months ago and I ordered chili cheese fries and it wasn't good. The chili was from a can and not even as good as Wolf brand chili. This time I ordered the two chicken strip basket with gravy and okra. Although hot and fresh this entire meal lacks seasoning. A bit of salt would go a long way. The staff I've interacted with do not seem all that friendly. You might do better getting a meal from the Mexican restaurant or Beer Kooler which are both just down the street from this cafe.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE FANCY TO SCORE A 10 OUT OF 10! We found this place as we were traveling to a campout. The number of service trucks, city work vehicles, and cop cars let you know this is the place to eat in Lometa, Texas. The food was good, the place was clean, the servers were attentive, and the prices were reasonable. We both had the steak finger basket with fresh cut home fries. We also got two large ice teas in 32 ounce to-go cups. We will try to stop here on the way home.

Great experience 🤩 I got the double hamburger with no bun (they have gluten free buns available) with tater tots and the burgers were so good and tater tots fried to perfection. Also, we tried the cheese sticks which were very good. My husband got the combo with fried catfish, French fries, 1 hush puppy and boiled shrimp with beans and coleslaw. The catfish had good flavor and good coating. Very good portions, will return.

This is an update. I'm happy to give 5 stars all the way around -- great food AND a friendly atmosphere!!

Thank you for your reply and we will look forward to a better impression on our next visit!

We've eaten often at the Rockin' K for years, and since the new owners kept most of the cooks and wait staff, the food has remained consistently delicious and service is good. The interior renovations will take a little getting used to but turned out very well. Only downside is that while the staff is friendly, the owners are not. Hence, the 2 stars for atmosphere. They are usually there, which is good, but we can't remember one time when they said hello, goodbye, thanked us for our business or stopped by our table to check on us. They don't even make eye contact, much less smile at us, or we'd introduce ourselves and compliment them on the renovations. Seems to us (and to other loyal, local customers that we've talked to) that they were talked into taking over, are not happy about it, don't want to be there and definitely don't appreciate their customers. We'll keep eating there for the food but it's sure a strange way to run...

OHHHH MYYYY GOSH!!!! The steak was tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. The shrimp was crisp and tender. Even the texas toast was amazing!! Frog legs were HUGE and soooooo juicy. Our waitress was attentive and super friendly. I dont know what these other silly willy low star reviewers are even talking about. I mean really? Stale crackers ruined your experience? It's too cold in the restaurant? 30 minutes for an omelette? This is small town Texas. Crackers are a garnish, we appreciate great AC and who in their right mind orders an omelette when there is chicken fried steak and eggs on the menu? Bottom line is the food is fresh, seasoned to perfection and absolutely delicious. The prices are low and the food quality and service is out of this world. DO NOT pass this place up. You will not be...

Absolutely the WORST service I have ever experienced! My family went there for Friday fish, seated ourselves. That’s when the PITIFUL time started. We were never acknowledged by the waitstaff and watched people come in after us and be served and complete their meals , pay and leave

After FORTY FIVE minutes we finally had enough of NO service and left! Talked to the girl at the cash counter, told her about our experience where she stated “too bad” and turned around and left me there absolutely astounded by the lackluster attitude!

I would NEVER go back there & NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone- ever. I hope they reap...
