Opal’s Restaurant — Restaurant in London

My friend and I went there recently and the food here was definitely a disappointment.I had what I thought was a grilled chicken breast with a maple glaze,cole slaw,and a baked potato.This was not a chicken breast,just a round,sandwich type chicken patty.Cole slaw tasted as if was old My friend had catfish,cole slaw,and mashed potatoes,and cornbread.The catfish was half done and cold in the middle, mashed potatoes were like they had come out of the fridge cold,no gravy for them,went to ask for gray,the waitress gives me a bowl of what looks like thick chunky dumplings, supposed to be gravy.The piece of cornbread was so child sized,had to ask for a second piece.This was always my family's favorite place to eat,but sad to say...

Got Pork Tenderloin and my friend got Ribeye Sandwich both were terrible…Pork Chop didn’t even look like a Pork Chop I’d seen in my 70 years ..( more surprise meat 🤮) about as big as size of small palm of teenagers hand with about half fat …was not a Tenderloin of any type …..her Ribeye looked like the ones for $1.25 at the local Dollar Tree store and tough she said …neither of us ate but a couple bites of the meat …..The baked potato and cole slaw were good and the Hot Fudge Cake was some of the best I’ve ever had …..but the meats were a whole different story …first time there and don’t believe I’ll ever be going back unless for Hot Fudge cake Was about $12 for...

Ordered the hot bar with one meat and two sides. Better half ordered fried cod dinner with baked potato. I had the barbecued ribs (which was actually pulled pork) and it was a good portion and delicious. My two sides were soup beans which was mostly broth and few beans and the Mac and cheese which was made with a velveeta type cheese sauce.
