I wish I could give zero stars. Very rude Waitress was trying to charge me for two drinks at a families 30th birthday when I know I only got one and waited until 10pm which was 20 minutes for 1$ drinks, she literally sat there and argued with me knowing she did not give me two drinks because I decided to wait. I even Treated the waitress with the upmost respect in trying to explain how I told her never mind Iāll wait till 10pm for the second drink. My family has practically raised the owner of this place and his wife/girlfriend/manager was trying to kick me out for supposedly disrespecting this waitress after speaking to my husband on the phone after wanting his card back knowing it was already charged and holding my card from me while reaching for it like I was some child being punished for something I did not do what so over because of ādisrespectingā the waitress who was trying to charge me for a drink I never got when I even called her hun and tried to get her to remember that I was waiting 20 mins till 10 for my second drink. Others who were there justified my actions and said in no way were you disrespectful and that was wrong how the manager acted which was very immature and unprofessional. The same waitress also never fullfilled an order for another customer who was at the party. Hope she did not get charged for it too. I even showed this waitress the one glass I had that she still had not come to get and she still tried to accuse me of getting a second drink when she knew I did not! Justin (owner) was practically raised by my family member and the way people were treated in this place for a birthday party for someone who was very close to the owner was absolutely insane and so disrespectful. She (manager) also had the nerve to tell the owner that he was undercharging for this birthday party for our family when my pap practically raised the owner. Worst experience I ever had with this place other than a couple years ago when another waiter spit in the take out box of my husbands food. I got out of there as fast as possible, as I was on my way out when the manager was trying to kick me out anyways. Word of advice Justin, everyone saw that I was not in the wrong and never treated anyone with disrespect, as that is just not who I am especially at a families birthday and I have waitressed before so I know both sides And I would never argue with a customer and then treat them the way I was treated. Never met a more snobby waitress Than I did last night. Even though it was one drink and had the money to pay for it, I just hate being accused of something I know and others knew I did not order or do. Your very rude significant other (manager) and lieing waitresses will run your business to the ground even more than it has gone already. I apologize to my family for the inconvenience, but I was not paying for a 5 dollar drink that I, and everyone else including the waitress knew I did not drink. She even stated āyes hun Iām trying to save you some money.ā So I waited the 20 minutes to order another and received a bill showing they were trying to charge me 10 dollars for one Baybreeze when I noticed she put down I had two. I would have literally put my right hand up to God and swore to this woman that I knew I did not receive this āsecond drinkā she was trying to charge me for. This place used to be awesome, not anymore. The food is great but overpriced as itās always been. Drinks are also way over priced, 11 dollars for two cough medicine cup full of fireball shots is ridiculous! They will never receive my business again. Please keep in mind you are the company that you keep and to say it nicely the people who are employed here are absolutely rude, very disrespectful and unprofessional. They will never get my service again, āfamilyā or not. At work, lately we had been calling on Wednesdays to buy a few pizzas for the coworkers, as they have half priced pizzas that day. A large pizza for 9-14$ is great, and it is the closest place to us. Lately the last few months the quality of the pie has been inconsistent, and has continued to go down in quality. Last afternoon we ordered four pies, sent someone else to go pick em up, they only rang us up for three, and we didn't realize we were shorted/not charged/ they didn't make that fourth till the other person arrived.
Last night, we were going to drive an hour out to head to Shady Maple buffet, but found out they were closed that night. Called them an hour ahead , apologizing for the late notice but figured it would be better than just showing up, that we'd have about 20 people arriving. Upon arrival, informed them it may be 25, and the staff followed us to our table arrangement they made and added another table.
As our group arrived over the course of an hour, the service continued to drop. Our waitress seemingly had our 25top and other tables in the dining room. She was overwhelmed and with needing to tend to over 30+ people taking appetizers, placing and running her own drinks from the bar not just for our table but others, going back to taking new orders from people that just arrived, getting dinner orders put in, refills and running drinks, other tables ... it was just a lot for one person. Our service was affected drastically, going 10-20mins with our waters and drinks empty, food taking 15-25 minutes to come out between orders. People from our table pointed out multiple other tables that came after us/ ordered after us was getting their food before us. Having worked in restaurants I get reasons and factors as to why, however MY awareness doesn't change/ shift the perception, and it bothered a majority of our party how slow the service was.
As aforementioned, I feel the quality of food I've had since first starting to go here ~a year ago has gone down, and has always been inconsistent. Often the food is very salty. Someone paid 20$ for the "Sailors seafood delight" or whatever and it came with four shrimp, three scallops, and two pieces of steamed broccoli lol. As aforementioned, Wednesday is half priced pizza night, so you can get a large pizza for 9-14$+, which is fine however the last few months the pizzas have been coming out soggy and also having the toppings slide off when you pick up a slice. Even cheese and pepperoni slides off. I can't fathom paying 20-35$ for a large pizza of that quality.
Most of their apps are 15$+, entrees are 25$, and this week's specials were mid30s-50s depending on what you get. Personally, the price doesn't justify the quality, salty food you get, and I'd prefer to spend my money elsewhere.
Cant imagine , and don't want to find out, how slow and poor food service is during the summer when they have live music on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne of the chef specials during our visit was BBQ ribs, smoked chicken breast with smoked Mac and Cheese with collard greens. Being a guy who BBQs a-lot, I was excited for this one. But, what I got was steamed ribs drown in BBQ sauce. The rib meat was mush, it literally had no texture and no smoke. The chicken breast was a small skinless boneless piece with no smoke flavor at all. The Mac and cheese and Greens were very good.
My wife got a Boli and her ground beef was not seasoned at all, hardly any cheese, the mushrooms were still raw, and there was hardly any spinach.
My daughter had a burger and she said it was āOkayā, she couldnāt eat the fries as they looked like they have been under a lamp for a few hours.
Son in law had an italian boli and it was loaded with ham and very little of anything else. He said it was rubbery in texture.
Weāre locals and have been here many times. The last three visits have been disappointing, but this one was atrocious. Iām a military man and Iāve had some bad meals in my lifetime, But my stomach turns thinking of those ribs.
Our server let our drinks empty. No refills. We got our meals and asked if we needed anything. I said, āutensilsā he brought two napkin wrapped knife and fork and asked again, I said āwe all need utensilsā and he realized he needed to bring two more.
Weāre done going here, unfortunately. This was once a great restaurant that had great pizza and even better fish. But the last few experiences had flavorless fish and poor service. I love supporting local businesses and dont like writing reviews like this one, but corners are being cut and someone needs to take accountability. Don't tell patrons your ribs, chicken, and mac n cheese are smoked and none of it is actually smoked.

Iāve never run a kitchen, so I have no idea how you keep the ribs warm, but after scraping off the thick layer of sauce, i tried the meat on its own and there was no smoke flavor. When I do ribs here at home, I put one thin layer of sauce, let that caramelize for 10 minutes, add one more thin layer, and pull them after another 10 minutes. What I received was a glob of sauce straight from a bottle.
In this day and age, I donāt do the ācan I see the managerā routine. All of a sudden, the patron becomes a āKarenā and it just doesnāt end well in my experiences. I do appreciate when a restaurant has a manager who introduces themselves and asks how the experience is going. It shows an openness to constructive feedback and diners don't feel like complainers. Sometimes restaurants have an off night so we let it go often times. But last evening, Iām sorry Justin, I couldnāt...
