Minnewaska House Brewing Co + Grill — Restaurant in Long Beach

Our group of 4 walked in around 5:15-5:30pm on a Saturday evening and the place was pretty much empty. A man asked if we had a reservation and we said no. He said he could give us a booth but we’d only have it until 6:30. Fine. We ordered 4 easy items: wing basket, chicken finger basket, burger and French dip sandwich. Asked for honey mustard sauce for the chicken strips and added mushrooms and onions to the French dip. Food arrived pretty quick. Our server, Chloe, said she’d be right back with the honey mustard. She did not return. The French dip was missing the mushrooms and onions. We had to flag down Chloe to remind her about the honey mustard, ask for additional napkins and tell her that the sandwich was missing items. She looked confused, didn’t apologize, and retrieved the honey mustard. Shortly after, we got our bill. We left cash tip on the table and let Chloe know. We headed to the bar to pay our bill in cash. As we left and were halfway to our car, the bartender flagged us down in the lot and asked whether we wanted to leave a tip for our server. First of all, rude. We did leave a tip. Check with the server before accusing us of not leaving a tip. Second, train your servers to write things down properly, remember what guests ordered, and apologize for any mistakes that were made. This great restaurant was recommended to me recently by a friend. With the Gov. allowing restaurants to have outside seating in the winter, I had to take it in. Owners, Angie & Darrin had a sweet set up with a TV outside for college football with fire pits & propane heaters to keep the chill at bay. They each ran orders outside to keep the good times rolling. Inside Kathy tended bar & Sparky on the grill. All the staff was so excited to see and serve. We had a few drinks (ask Darrin for new brew recommendations) & shared laughs with others willing to brave the winter. We ordered dinner prior to leaving and enjoy back home. Both entrees were great, the ribs I had didn't disappoint - thanks Sparky! I look forward to a return trip and enjoying in indoors and get full experience these owners have to offer.

This place was a disappointment. The beer was okay, the food was okay (the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich is MN spicy so, not spicy at all) and the service was okay, but only because it was saved by the bartender. My server took my order, delivered the wrong order and walked away as I tried to get her attention regarding the mistake. She only realized it when she tried to deliver my order to the other guy and then again walked away as I was talking to her when she switched the entrees. She never once checked on me and hardly apologized for the mixup as though she couldn't be bothered. The only reason I'm giving 3⭐ on the service is because the bartender took over and did her best to salvage what she could of my mediocre-at-best experience. Overall, unimpressed, not worth the $...
