Editing this to add it seems from other reviews that the same thing happened last Mother’s Day so they did not learn from that and change anything to do better this year.
Had a reservation for 12:45. Put in the reservation notes that we needed a highchair, was told when we got there that they didn’t have any. I had looked in the outdoor area and there was a highchair sitting unused. I went in and asked the hostess and she magically said yes, they would have a high chair for us to use but we still had to wait for a table to be open. Finally got seated at 1:15 with the highchair. Waited another 15 minutes for menus which we had to change down the hostess for. Then another 15 for glasses which we had to go up to the bar to ask for ourselves because no one was around to ask. We put our orders in after 30 more minutes of waiting. Finally after another 40 minutes of waiting for food and seeing other tables before us also still waiting we said enough was enough and left. We arrived at 12:30 and there was a table that had no food or menus, they still did not have any of their food when we walked out. They had also just seated a party of 10 which I can only imagine had to wait forever for their food. The staff did their best but whoever was in charge of managing booking and reservations was really off the mark here. I have worked in restaurants for years so I know it is not fully the fault of the servers or cooks but the management that clearly did not prepare and the servers/hostess that were working were not helpful at all in even letting us or others know if the long waits for food and service. This was my first Mother’s Day and all I wanted was a nice meal with my husband and baby. We ended up going to Taco Bell because we were that starving...
Read moreI’m so confused about the great reviews for this place. That was the whole reason I came. And I’m sad to write a bad review but I feel like someone here has to be honest.
It was 15 degrees outside and the temperature was essentially the same inside (maybe a little higher?) because every door had an aggressive draft. We felt bad leaving so we just moved tables instead. Our server suggested moving to the center of the room so we did. Even then, we had to wear our coats the whole time. The tables around us had to do the same thing. This was the first thing to go wrong but I looked past it since it’s not their fault.
We were one of 3 tables in the whole restaurant and service was terrible. My coffee was cold, and when I asked for a refill (thinking it would warm up my cup) I realized the entire pot was cold. Our server was really young so I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt, but we had to flag someone down for everything we needed. Because there were so few people in the restaurant, I was surprised to be ignored the whole time. Both servers were busy doing side work around us and didn’t notice we were waiting to be approached. It made me wonder how much worse the service would be if the whole place was filled!
They clearly didn’t know the menu either because when we asked for eggs benedict with home fries, they gave us each an extra side of home fries instead of telling us that our meals already came with home fries. We ended up eating them and paying for them, but why wouldn’t you let me know??
Our meals were VERY staggered. My fiancé got his meal a while before I got mine, and when I finally got mine, it was cold. Very average food, and even worse coffee.
I would never go out of my way to come back here especially...
Read moreHard to recommend and probably won’t return, unfortunately.
Food was pretty good. Entree prices were little high for the overall experience.
The fly to customer ratio was about 8:1. Severely detracted from the atmosphere, and this was indoor dining. Was about 82 degrees inside - uncomfortably warm. That plus the fly issue meant we took dessert to go. When we got home we realized we -typically decent smelling humans- reeked of grease. Unplanned laundry cycle accompanied dessert. Another sign the HVAC is in need of attention.
Service was great, but we were the only diners for at least half our visit so pretty low bar. We could tell they were eager to convince us to return. I’ve never been to a restaurant where 5 minutes after ordering we are given menus again and told about their breakfast and brunch options. It wasn’t necessarily a problem but a bit odd.
They are faltering and overcharge to make up for low customer volume. They don’t have the capital to address what seem to be longstanding HVAC issues (older reviews indicate lack of AC isn’t new). Lack of capital to address the fly problem, which makes me wonder what the conditions are in kitchen and food storage area.
Maybe they don’t have the cash reserves to give the very best experience while they are trying to build customer base. It’s unfortunate because the food was decent. But I make decent food at home where I don’t need to swat flies the whole time, and I don’t...
