Review of Papa Pete's Pizza - Ocean Beach Highway
Rating: ★☆☆
If I could leave a 0, I would. My family has been loyal customers to Papa Pete's Pizza on Ocean Beach Highway for over 30 years, celebrating countless special occasions and spending thousands of dollars on pizza parties for sports teams, renting out the entire parlor multiple times. However, today, on my father's birthday—a man who has contributed so much to the local community—we faced an incredibly frustrating experience that has led us to rethink giving them our business ever again.
When we called to order a large pizza for pickup, we were told that since "my phone number wasn’t in their system", I would need to order the pizza over the phone, then physically travel to the parlor to pay for it in person, and then wait an additional 10-20 minutes for them to cook the pizza after paying for it. My sister and I spent 10 minutes on the phone with a manager who was not only argumentative but also seemingly incompetent. She refused to take our order or our payment over the phone.
After much back-and-forth, we provided a different phone number belonging to a family member not even present at the time. For some reason, that satisfied the manager, who was then willing to cook our pizza. This made absolutely no rational sense, and the entire situation left us feeling frustrated and disheartened.
Given the recent experience, we will no longer be giving our once favorite pizza place our business. It seems there is a significant issue with the newer ownership and management, and what was once a cherished institution in our community has become a...
Read moreIf you're looking for the same quality of food, service, and atmosphere that you'd experience at the original location in Castle Rock, you're looking in the wrong place sadly. The famous "Taco Pizza" wasn't even that great. Something was off about it and I didn't even finish one piece. The crust wasn't the same. This time more rubbery and not crispy.
Soda is not served by pitcher, but per paper cup from fountain machine. It was without enough carbonation and flavor.
There was almost no interaction with the staff. They didn't greet us. They didn't check on us. Besides when ordering, staff was almost nonexistent, in terms of customer service. Nothing like the friendly and helpful one over in original location.
There are only like 5 games in the arcade, so don't expect much. Most of them cost around $2! Be prepared to have disappointed kids when the machine eats all their change!
The pizza was mediocre. Staff; mediocre. Experience; not...
Read moreI won’t visit the longview location again. We ordered a pizza to pick up, we show up and the order was wrong. One lady offered to remake it which is fine and then the manager who seems to be on a power trip chimes in to say that it shouldn’t be wrong because she repeated the order back (she didn’t). When asking for a discount because the rest of our order got cold and for the time and inconvenience the manager continued to say that she did nothing wrong and she refuses to do anything about it saying we ordered wrong when we didn’t. (We ordered white sauce, they heard light sauce, they didn’t confirm. Simple mistake and understandable). My issue isn’t that the order was messed up but the rude demeanor of the manager who jumped so quickly to argue when there was a miscommunication without so much as an apology. Poor management, horrible customer service. We...
