Read moreI’ve been waiting a whole year for Yafa Mediterranean Grill to open at Liberty Center in Lorton—and let me tell you, it was worth the wait. Finally, some quality Middle Eastern fast-casual and sit-down food in the area!
Where do I even begin? I ordered both the chicken and beef/lamb shawarma in a warm pita pocket. The bread was freshly baked, soft yet sturdy, and held all the juicy meat without a single messy drip—huge win. The meat? A mouthwatering mix of lamb/beef and chicken, perfectly cooked, juicy, and charred just like the shawarma you’d find on the streets of Beirut or Amman.
Think Chipotle, but for habibis. You pick your protein, then choose to have it in a salad bowl, on flatbread, or in a pita pocket.
We also tried the falafel—absolute perfection. Not dry at all, beautifully seasoned, and honestly reminded me of the falafel I loved in Amsterdam and Berlin (which is saying something). The za’atar fries? A must. And trust me when I say the mint lemonade was so fresh and homemade, I had two rounds. Couldn’t resist.
And the kanafa—freshly baked, not overly sweet, just the right balance. Gooey with stretchy mozzarella and akkawi cheese, it hit the spot.
Can’t wait to go back and try the kabobs and salads. Their spread of veggies and toppings is super fresh and seemingly endless. Highly recommend the fried eggplant and cauliflower.
Family-owned, excellent service, open and airy space with beautiful Arabesque touches—and yes, plenty of parking. Welcome to the neighborhood, Yafa Grill. You’ve already...

The beef shawarma and gyro were equally impressive, with tender meat and a depth of flavor that had us scraping the bottom of the plate.
The falafel was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a delightful crunch from the sesame seeds. Served with a side of creamy hummus, this was the perfect accompaniment to the shawarma.
