You don't always think of a strip mall when trying to decide where to go for good Italian food but in this case, this little strip mall on Roscoe Blvd. contains a little gem. Al Italiano had some of the best Italian food that I have eaten in years. They have a medium-small indoor dining room and a large outdoor patio. The indoor dining area is not the largest but it can handle about 4 large parties and then around 6 or 7 parties of 4 or less. It is a cozy and comfortable environment. The service was great. Very friendly and attentive yet not always milling about. I ordered Chapino which was one of their specials that evening and it was delicious and large. The pieces of fish in it were so tender that they literally melted in my mouth. There was a lot of fish, muscles (in their shell), octopus, shrimp, and clams (in their shell). There was also fresh fettuccine and a wonderful red soupy sauce. There was so much food that I only ate about half of it and brought the rest home for lunch the next day. Everyone in my party was more than happy with the dishes they ordered and we were all very pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant of this caliber in a strip mall. We all look forward to another visit at...

There really is nothing bad to say about Al Italiano. The atmosphere is relaxed, modern Italian. We were able to have a nice conversation without yelling at each other. Our server, Eddie, was brilliant. Right on time without being overbearing. Since this was our first time there, he guided us through the menu, specials and wine. He was very knowledgeable about the food and made marvelous suggestions. Started with calamari, lightly breaded and tender. Caprese salad, large slices of tomato and mozzarella was outstanding. Shrimp scampi cognac was very tasty with a light hint of lemon. Cioppino was scrumptious and very filling. And enough to take home and make another meal. Salsiccia piccante was incredibly enjoyable with a light pesto without being bold. Shrimp parmigiano fra diavolo was wonderfully tender and spicy. A great place to enjoy family time, or friends, or sit at the...

What an incredible hidden gem! We were craving Italian food and decided to check out Al Italiano. Walked in on a Tuesday night a little before closing. Eddie and the owner Robert greeted us warmly. The menu has some great options and we were indecisive what to order. Our waiter Eddie is a first class professional and answered all our questions with patience and in details. His recommendations were amazing. We ordered Eggplant Parmesan, Veal Piccata, Children’s cheese pizza, Salumiere pizza and their homemade Tiramisu. Everything was excellent and so tasty. The whole experience at Al Italiano was outstanding and unforgettable. Robert is a great business owner who actually cares and treats you like family. His whole staff is very respectful and helpful. The ambiance is very Italian and welcoming. We found a true gem! Thank you Robert, Eddie and staff! We will...

This is a great Neighborhood Restaurant. I ordered a veal parmigiana with a side of pasta and steamed vegetables. Everything was cooked to my liking, the atmosphere inside was jovial. The wait staff was pleasant, knowledgeable, and accommodating. There is inside seating as well as outside seating in a garden area. The menu is extensive for an Italian restaurant. The wine list shows wines of a lighter nature, not trying to outdo the flavors on the menu. I brought a Stolpman Vineyards 2011 Angeli which is a medium-bodied Sangiovese. This paired very well with the veal. I would recommend this place as a great go-to spot for a wonderful Italian meal.

10/10 would recommend. Finally stopped in for lunch and we were blown away. Great service with Eddie. Started with fresh warm bread served with yummy oil, enjoyed a delicious and fresh Ceasar salad, the caprese salad was drizzled in an excellent balsamic, and the special filet of sole was so good I wanted to lick the plate (I didn’t). The fresh Tiramisu was also excellent! Excellent in every way.
