I recently celebrated my significant other’s birthday at Big Jim’s Family Restaurant, bringing together both of our families for a truly special evening. Hosting such a large group could have been stressful, but the team at Big Jim’s handled everything with ease. The food was served hot and on time, and the service was nothing short of amazing. The staff made sure everything went smoothly, checking in regularly to ensure we were happy and that the event was going as planned. It’s rare to find such genuine care and attention, even at the priciest places, but Big Jim’s delivered beyond expectations. We all went home full, happy, and with delightful memories that we’ll cherish. The price was very reasonable, especially considering the top-notch service and delicious food. This family-owned restaurant has a warm, local feel, but they manage to offer flavors and service that rival the best spots in town. They truly care about their customers and making sure every detail is perfect. In a big city, it’s easy for gems like Big Jim’s to go unnoticed, but they deserve to shine. It’s a place where you feel valued, where your event matters as much to them as it does to you. We’re already planning our next gathering here, and I can’t wait to spread the word about this fantastic spot.

I came her with my family. It was during lunch. Not too busy, but we were a huge party. Nice and generous staffing. I ordered the meatloaf sandwich, but the waiter must've mishearde and brought the meatloaf plate. He took it back and brought the sandwich plate, but you could tell the kitchen staff threw the same meatloaf piece in between 2 piece of bread; first off, the meatloaf had no cheese; there was no sauce of any kind on it, but luckily the meatloaf itself was juicy; and no grilled onions, which is what was supposed to be on top of the cheese and sauce. So kitchen staff did me dirty on that, but the waiter was apologetic about it. As I said, the meatloaf itself was good and saved this rating. The fries were basic and the string type. I also got the taquitos appetizer. A very nice presentation and they were quite good. The skillet plates, which I did not try, but was told it was good, looked appetizing and came with a separate plate of rice and beans. All in all, a good experience. The kitchen staff needs to be more understanding of mishaps and mistakes and refire an entire meal if it comes out wrong. I'm 50/50 on whether I'd try this again.

Im a 7th generation Texan, and I LOVE southern cooking. This was my first time to try this restaurant, and the pleasant surprises started before my wife and I even got thru the doors. We were greater by Jaime, who held the door open for us as he greeted us. His service was spot on wonderful. At the time Jaime was the only waiter on duty, and he effortlessly took care of all of the customers without anyone having to wait very long for anything. This was the first time in a long time that I never had to look for my waiter or waive him down. All of my needs/wants were met in a timely fashion. The atmosphere eased my homesickness for Texas with its country theme, and lots of beautiful wood and brass. And the food was great tasting, large portions, and very reasonably priced. I had the country fried steak, and my wife had the tuna melt. We also tried the house salad, and the cream of chicken soup (we ordered an extra bowl to take home!). It was all hot, fresh, and tasty. We will definitely be back!! Thank you, Big Jim's, for any rare and great dining experience.

I want to share a my bad experience just a few night ago, the worse experience ever from all the bars I been in my life with the bartender name Erika the older lady with black hair not only is she rude because this was not the first time she gives me attitude but she straight up told me in my face that she she would not place an order for food for me because kitchen was close at 9 pm and I try to order at 9:05 - about 10 min latter 3 guys came in an order food and I ask why did they get to order food and you deny my order her answer they are regular clients not you- Super disappointed and because of her treatment I decided to post this comment - but there is more guys for those that go regular here pay attention the way this lady cleans the bar with a towel and them goes and rises this towel in the same water she washes all glasses for the bar I do have evidence as I have recorded her not only doping that but also as she is eating on the side of the bar licks her fingers eating wings and goes and grabs glasses and cuts lemons to serve drinks for client and does not wash her hands- I have also been there a few times where she serves her regular customers as she is calling them drinks shots as they are super drunk and never does she tell them it is enough I cannot serve more because she knows she is getting a god tip she also does that with one of the guys that works in the kitchen he has been super drunk starting arguments and still does not refused to serve him drinks- yet the other day made a big deal with a female co-worker that was not super drunk made a show announce it out loud saying YOU ARE DRUNK I CANNOT GIVE YOU ANYTHING ELSE embarrassed her and me because we were together and when I told her do not do that and to relax she said I can do more and worse

That's my story today just for everyone that was there and reads this you know I will file a complain like I...

Stumbled upon this restaurant while I was car shopping a few months ago. Was looking for a quiet place to have a meal and review the information that I acquired about the cars I was considering buying. It had an inviting feel to it, and we were not disappointed.

The restaurant has a Southwestern focused decor. You get the feel of it with the wagon wheels on the walkway in, followed by the lobby entrance beautiful wood armoires showcasing Hispanic dolls and other artifacts from the wild wild west, lace curtains and simple muted paint. There is a ceiling mural and a fish tank, which was a nice touch to the remaining decor.

The menu is quite extensive. Their specialty is Mexican food, but they also offer a good variety of sandwiches, salads, burgers, breakfast items and combination (skillet) platters. Lunch and dinner offerings include vegetarian, meatloaf, turkey, pork chops, steak, chicken or seafood.

I was in the mood for a sandwich, so I ordered the Monte Cristo. It was very tasty, so big I could have shared with my husband. The bread was very moist, generous portions of ham, dusted with the perfect balance of confectioner sugar. And maple syrup just right - not too sweet!

My husband decided to try one of the "South of The Border" plates, Taquitos Rancheros. Again, enough for two to share!

This is a casual family restaurant with great service, generous portions and very affordable. There were a number of other items I was considering before I chose the Monte Cristo. Given the chance to dine here again, I would choose this restaurant for a nice casual meal with...

This place is a hidden treasure, I pass by it every day never thought about going in boy was I wrong. I had my daughter baby shower there and everything was amazing from the food to the service. The employees made us feel like at home catering to us from the moment we walk through the door.

The food is amazing they offer us an amazing buffet style for the party and at a very affordable price, we had chicken and stake fajitas the were to die for with rice, a salad bar plus many more delicious food, and a dessert table with cookies cheesecakes fruit salad flans plus more and everything was really good.

I mention to my mom I wanted menudo which was not include in our party menu, and the owners were really sweet they include the menudo in our party Menu free of charge.

All the employees were really sweet and friendly, we had and open bar as well the drinks were amazing 😍 and even though the bar was full with people not from our party, the bartenders and waitress all cater to us with a smile on there faces. At the end our party everyone was happy even our family the came out of town.

If your looking for a family style restaurant the is kid friendly affordable where the food is amazing this is your place. Holiday's are coming up and we are planning a get together at this amazing place because we know we will be treat it like family and nothing is more important than family and big Jim's knows that because of their amazing customer service and...
