Mariscos El Viejito — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I ordered the carne asada plate, it was served with rice, refried beans and what it seemed a sad effort to include a salad. The meat was a lesser quality cut, not ranchera ( flank or skirt stake) it was tough, dry and had to much fat. The portions were small and hardly sufficient for the price. The server brought to the table a small bowl of salsa and a bag of tostadas, not in a basket or a serving plate but straight in the bag with the top rolled down. Clean, spacious dining room. Island/coastal theme interior decor. Music sometimes live.

Stopped by as I waited for a car repair. Server brings chips and salsa right away.

I had two Marlin empanadas and 1 marlin taco. $10.49 + 9.5% = $11.49 plus tip.

I thought I’d get one more taco but was satisfied with 1. Very good meat. Served hot.

Live band went around offering performances for pay as we ate.
