Their staff is FANTASTIC! Hands Down, THE best service you'll ever receive at Lake Anna. All of the employees were so hardworking, helpful, and honest!
If you're interested in experiencing a relic from the past, then The Cove at Lake Anna is your spot.
The upstairs dining room is bright and open with plenty of room for family and friends to enjoy a good meal.
Unfortunately, "The past" I'm speaking of would be The Great Depression, and not The Roaring 20s. You would have to bring your own food to have a good meal here, as the quality of the produce and seafood is questionable at best.
The crab legs are laughably overpriced and could not possibly have been cooked properly in a steaming oven.
The chicken wings tasted pre-cooked and fried to order with little regard for customer satisfaction. They tasted as if they'd been sitting on a metal pan without proper refrigeration for several days.
The burgers are delicious. If you like uncooked beef, grease, and processed cheeses. If certain cooks are cooking, it apparently improves.
The drinks are alcoholic, that's about the best I can say of them. They taste like they're mixed with old juices that haven't been stored properly, and the fruit is on the verge of being spoiled. The mixer-pourers looked mismatched and outdated. I fear they may be as old as the lake itself.
If you're looking for a frozen drink, then don't go here. The hardworking bartenders were forced to use old blenders with inadequate supplies and materials. Despite their best efforts, the bartenders were unable to hide the lack of investment and ingenuity that a frozen-bar requires.
The restrooms are clean and beautiful. Until the frozen drinks and warm beer come back up. Then they're littered with cigarette butts and vomit from the warm beer and old chicken wings.
While you dine, enjoy a beautiful view of Lake Anna with the smells of human waste from the leaking septic system and the sounds of the owner berating staff or dissatisfied customers echoing across the waters.
Yes, the Cove at Lake Anna has everything you desire. If you desire a hangover, food poisoning, and a sore throat from being choked by the owner. Come enjoy a fabulous evening that will surely make a great impression on...
Read moreWhen we arrived we were told there was a 30 minute wait to be seated and on food as the kitchen was behind. Which we agreed no problem. They proceeded to tell us Appetizers we’re coming out quicker so we decided to order 2 appetizers. We placed our dinner orders and 2 meals to go as we were bringing food home for a family member. It took 40 minutes for our appetizers to come out, then after waiting 1.5 hours I asked if we could just have everything to go that way I can get the food home to the others before bedtime. After 2 hours they brought us our meals to go but the waitress forgot the additional to go meals I ordered. I asked how long of a wait and the kitchen manager told her that we would have to wait in line food is first come first serve. This was definitely not true because people that came in after us had their meals and left before we got anything. Our bill was over $200 which is fine however it is not fine when there were so many mistakes on our food, we waited well over the allotted time that was told to us. As a business owner I would have made it right for the customer. No one offered to make it right. Needless to say this is my first and last experience with the cove. Looking back over the past few weeks of reviews it seems the business is doing this to a lot of customers and that is sad that service is going out the door. I also read the response and it’s the same response copied and pasted to each bad review and let me say we talked to a manager in the cove and they didn’t want to help at all and because the waitress forgot to put the additional order in we were to wait until our turn which is not right it should have been prepared ASAP. It wasn’t the customers fault. I could go on and on about how things should have been handled, maybe the cove needs new managers because they didn’t want to rectify the situation either so before you copy and paste the same response that you have to every other review, please read this one entirely. You will start losing customers and business if this keeps up, the negative reviews are becoming...
Read moreI am leaving this review solely on the experience I had with the GM Titus. Please also know I have been in the restaurant industry for many years and would never give customers the excuses I received today. We went to The Cove for brunch. Our server was new but was still attentive and polite. We were a party of 8. Food came out for everyone but for one person. We immediately notified the server and he apologized and went to talk to the kitchen. He came back out and said he didn’t know what happened because he rang it in, but that the food would be out soon. About 30 minutes went by, my entire group was done eating, no sign of the food. The server came back two times between these 30 minutes and said it would be out soon. May I added that all I ordered was a Chesapeake club sandwich. At this point I would have expected a manager to come by and never did , so I requested to speak to one. Titus the GM came over and asked how was everything , told him what happened and he says he would take care of it. We get the bill and the sandwich is still on the bill at 50% off. I asked to speak to him again and he asked what the problem was, told him I was confused why we were paying for it and he said because they had packed the food to go for me. I told him considering the situation I would have expected him to comp the entree, he said they are a small business and it hurts them even to comp 50%. I told him small business or not the staff made a mistake and needed to make things right. By the time I got home and ate my sandwich, it was cold and not good. I do not believe what we requested was outrageous, we didn’t go eat with the intention of getting free food, but I never got my food during the time my group was eating or a managers table touch until I requested to speak to one. To add to it, I know with large parties most restaurants add gratuity but at The Cove we weren’t told they were going to add gratuity so the server got more tip than he should have. Poor...
