I remembered going to this place as a kid, around 1989 or 1990 or so. And then I was never back for the next few decades, until recently, when I remembered this restaurant, and decided to try it again. And I'm glad I did!
I've gone three times this year, and have been extremely happy all three times. I've had chicken parm all three times--I'm not exactly an adventurous girl I know ^^--and it was cooked to perfection every time! Tender and flavorful and not dry at all! I really should branch out a little bit and try something new next time. Maybe ^^; The sauce is delicious too, I should add! For dessert, I've gotten the chocolate confusion, a cake-mousse hybrid thing, and it's sooooo good! I kinda' want to try something else, but I just loooove the chocolate confusion so so much!
My waitress has been amazing, and despite not having gone that often, clearly remembered me from before. Allowed me to get extra pasta instead of side salad, and even remembered I liked that! Nothing but good things to say about her, friendly and attentive.
It's a cozy little building, almost looking more like someone's home from the outside, and has a cozy home-y atmosphere inside. It's a little out of the way, tucked neatly among the trees, but well worth going and enjoying ^_^
Edit: I went on July 14, 2023, and the food is still delicious... mostly. The chocolate confusion is completely different from what it used to be, tough. Rather than a cake-mousse hybrid dessert, it's now an ordinary chocolate cake, and not the greatest chocolate cake either, and it's really disappointing compared to the old chocolate confusion. I really do hope they bring the old chocolate confusion back. Still a restaurant worthy of 5 stars, but wow, do I miss the old...
Read moreThis was my first time at this restaurant. People have told me how good the food is and the service. Being in the service industry for the last 50 years, I was really surprised after People told me how wonderful the place was. When I placed my order, I told the girl that I didn’t not want fettuccine as my pasta and she said would you like angel hair pasta I said yes That would be fine.my dinner comes out. It is chicken Parmesan, which I did not order and fettuccine noodles which I did not order. Everybody else in the party‘s food was there and I had to sit there and wait While they made the dish that I ordered in the first place. Should I bring my pasta back out and it’s still the fettuccine noodles. At this point, I just took the noodles and put them in the center of the table and did not eat them. At last my chicken came out and it was tasty. They didn’t really come around to fill up any of the water glasses, but one time. We ordered dessert. The tiramisu was OK. I don’t know if it was the waitress’s first night. Hopefully if I come there again, my experience...
Read moreWe came here for my wife's birthday. Everyone was friendly and the place felt very inviting and comfortable. The best item we ordered was the appetizer, which was fried ravioli with lobster bits (a little overpriced). The food was really the main disappointment here. I should have realized this would be the case when I was served instant lemonade. I don't remember exactly what dishes we ordered, but I had some kind of seafood stuffing wrapped in pasta and my wife had a pork tenderloin which was the special that day. None of the flavors really stood out and none of was all that impressive. I couldn't tell what part of my dish was a crawfish, which was lobster, or which was shrimp. Very overpriced. I suppose it would be nice home cooking for some relatives. I don't drink, but I suppose if you're into that Assunta's might be a decent place to have some wine. We were dined here...
