We went as part of a group most of the group ordered the lunch special (not me I do not eat fried if I can avoid it) the major complaint was the waitress served one special immediately amd may have been told that person was on a lunch hour which they were. The complaint is all the other specials got their food after most others all finished eating and was not told there would b a delay. If the waitress would just have told them that would have been better. My gumbo appetizer cost $6 and because I was served as one of the 1st everyone noticed it and commented that it looked like it had nothing in it. it was rice on top and only a little gravy they couldn't even see shrimp there was a few but very skimpy looking no sausage only a few shrimp. Also others had some appetizers arrive after their dishes which is not cool, when the waitress does not warn you. Overall meal was good but not worth the price. Only the special was a good deal but they must have been running out of the cake that comes with it as the special plates had a slice of cake that was about 1/4" thick by...
Read moreThis was actually delivered to me and my grandmother as a "seafood gumbo" in a place with a Cajun French name in the outskirts of Houma, Louisiana. To the waitress' credit she swapped it out for free for a mediocre bisque. This restaurant should be ashamed. Seriously ashamed. I was born "down de bayou" in Houma, and my grandmother is a true native Cajun (nee Landry) and we were absolutely shocked that this would be presented as gumbo. I was waiting for Ashton Kutcher to jump out of the bushes outside and say we were being "punked" - look at these tiny Chinese shrimp! Lack of any other real seafood ! The "roux" is simply water that happened to pass by a real gumbo at some point last week! I wanted to take a precious moment to give my grandmother a great Cajun meal, and instead got this. Shame on yall. I would say to learn how to make a roux, but I worry yall would mess it up this...
Read moreWent here for dinner with high expectations and unfortunately was extremely let down. Had crawfish tails as an appetizer and they were not fresh, only warm. The crawfish etouffee was again only warm and had a film over it when I got it so it had to have been sitting for a while before I was served. The chicken in the pasta was also precooked and rubbery, not fresh. When we asked for the check the waitress saw that we had not touched the food but to taste it and didn’t even ask if we liked it, only asked if we wanted a box and when we said no just wanted us to pay. And don’t get me wrong I have no problem paying for food I ordered but most places with good customer service at least offer a different selection when they see the food isn’t even touched. Needless to say we left hungry and went down the street to The Shack and had a...
