Woof. Extremely suspicious of how this restaurant got as many good reviews as it has. The one and only good thing about my experience at Cactus? My waitress was very sweet. Unfortunately everything else was downhill, the queso was lukewarm, the bathrooms were sketchy, my friends margarita was SWEET and basically had leftover lime rind dumped on it with a barely salted rim and a.... Cherry?? She even let me try it, and.. I've never tasted a margarita like that before in my life. Even the salsa was poorly mixed, as there were whole chili flakes in the mix. Since I hadn't been to this place before, my mentality was "Okay let's see how the tacos are instead of going with a true entree".... Not sure if that was the best or worst decision but the tacos were flavorless and the ground beef was dry. I'm glad I didn't spend more money on a bigger and more expensive plate if the basic items were inedible. I feel like I'm pretty gracious, but I seriously felt like i would've had more luck at taco Bell than Cactus Mexican Grill.
Oh and don't let any photos deceive you. The booths are in shoddy condition and can barely position you close enough to the table. Everything is a bit run...
Read moreFood came out fresh, hot, and fast. That's pretty consistent. Only negative thing about this visit was the long black hair baked into my associates burrito. Although shocking, server quickly tended to issue offering to take it back and remake I'm addition to removing plate from the bill. But in another shocking moment this dude decided to keep the food and ate it in its entirety. He was 3 days fresh out of LPCC. I'm assuming this may be the cause for that gross off-putting behavior; just being over excited and impatient for his first HOT meal in 5 months. I definitelyordered more thanwe needed including appetizers, minus the hair burrito cost, the total bill was $40 & some change. $50 in total with the tip, with PLENTY of food to take home as well! The access road and parking for this place is a little crazy being RIGHT OFF Hwy 90 (aka Evangeline thruway idk what they call it, I'm not locally...
Read moreLoved loved loved this place! Best steak fajitas I’ve had in the area and the Margaritas were on point.
This is what set it over the top... One of their waiters grabs an acoustic Taylor. Coming from a music background, we were expecting him to rip one to sing happy birthday to this nice gentleman having dinner with his family.
With the confidence of Kurt Cobain himself, the waiter proceeds to open strum this bad boy while the whole staff sings happy birthday to this guy. (That thing hadn’t been tuned in years.) It made it that much more awesome… not kidding.
What made it even more entertaining is that half of the staff was singing in English and half the staff in Spanish. One chord.. 6 people.. 2 languages…. Amazing.
Couldn’t get enough… 19/10 stars. We will...
