Chef Schonbergs Sweets — Restaurant in Louisiana

I was excited to try this local business for my son's birthday. I ordered a dozen Birthday Suit cupcakes. The Chef instructed me to pick up the order in a church parking lot and agreed on a time. The day of pickup, I arrived 3 minutes late to the agreed location and could not find any other cars. After a few minutes or walking around and driving around, with no message from the Chef, I called the business number only to be asked to leave a voicemail twice. A few minutes later, I received a text message that said "How may we help you?"When I asked if this was Chef Schoenberg's and about my pick up, she replied that she was running late. By this point, we had been waiting at the parking lot for 14 minutes. Another 5 minutes or so later, she arrived and mentioned a reason for her delay. I put aside my frustration at the wait, and was excited for the cupcakes. However, less than a minute after I got back in my car, I could not help but notice the strong smoke smell of the cupcake box. I hoped that the smell was isolated to the outside of the box. On trying one of the cupcakes, I was disappointed to learn otherwise. The frosting had absorbed the smoke smell from the previous environment(s) of the cupcakes. So, despite generally being very careful about not wasting money nor food, I tossed all the cupcakes, for which I paid $30 into the trash can. It seems, based on previous reviews, that mine was a unique experience. I hope it was. I should also add that I am a non-smoker and very sensitive to smoke smell, so those factors shaped...

Warning this is a long post but it’s worth it

So my wife decides to tell me 4 days before her birthday she wants a special cake! I’m like what? Special? Basically one that didn’t come off a shelf lol. So here I go 6 in the morning searching cake places. I went to each site pictures and nothing caught my eye. But then I saw “Chef Schonbergs Sweets” and immediately my jaw dropped. Only problem was it was so short of a notice that I just knew I wouldn’t be able to get this beautiful cake. I called her around 6:30am and clearly she could tell I was nervous lol. When I tell you everything took 5min. From the color to the inside of the cake to the topping😩. I couldn’t believe it, then on top of that she could get it to me the day I needed for! So professional and easy, surprisingly that’s not the best part. The cake tasted so good omg! I mean this cake had the works, real roses, gold edible decorations, just ughhh lol. This will definitely be the only place I get my cakes from. Worth every penny ! Will be...

A nearby bakery used to make the traditional New Orleans almond wedding cake that my mom loved, but they went out of business. Ever since, she's been ordering almond cakes from various places but they were never quite right. For her 80th birthday, the only thing she wanted was an almond cake with cream cheese frosting. I found Chef Schonbergs Sweets online and she offers a New Orleans Wedding White cake. Since I was a little skeptical, I only ordered a 6" one with the cream cheese frosting.

This almond cake was perfect and my mom was thrilled! The cake was perfect, both in taste and decoration. The lavender frosting was an absolutely gorgeous color and all the roses on top were just wonderful! Plus it tasted exactly like the cake my Mom has wanted for years. And the raspberry filling and frosting were also terrific. It was probably the best cake we’ve ever had!
