Chinese Eatery — Restaurant in Louisiana

I just ordered from the neighborhood Chinese Eatery...excuse the pun. I have enjoyed eating here on numerous occasions and enjoy the food. Tonight's purchase of HOT and SOUR was too sweet and full of red pepper flakes...no vinegar used...it tasted like sweet hot liquid peppery soup cornstarch..thin on the veggies, tofu was abundant. I especially like this soup from here because it has been masterfully done in the past. Today... unfortunately for me not so much. Moved on to the order of plain fried chicken wings. Abomination!!! The chicken was not fresh...it was fresh coming out of the oil, but how long was it in the freezer?? Someone please tell me why they thought it was okay to serve this dried out hairy broken wing discard cuts to ANYONE at ANYTIME!!! I love patronizing locally in my hood..cause this is what we have. Seriously...you got me tonight...but never again. Chinese Eatery you were my go to for many a family meal or movie night. This was inedible. It saddened me that I will never pass the threshold of this establishment again. Take Care and...

We usually come here every other month or longer, when we don’t feel like driving to Hong Kong Kitchen in Harahan (true authentic Chinese food). We’ve had a couple of good experiences but more bad experiences. Once, we were given spaghetti noodles for lo mein noodles. When I complained, I was told they purchased those in error and had to use them. Other times, the chicken was fried in dirty oil and was inedible. So yesterday, we had a large order: I ordered a large bourbon chicken, a large curry chicken, 2 large wonton soups, a large combo rice and an order of cho cho’s. So my curry chicken was clearly curried soup with limped, overcooked vegetables. I called to express my disappointment and the young kid at the register was super sarcastic. That said, I’ll never patron this place again. I didn’t request a refund or a replacement, I just wanted them to acknowledge that someone screwed up but he kept defending that crap you see below and said that’s how their curry chicken is prepared. That was a lie, so it’s a wrap for me...

I will never understand the bad reviews of this place, but haters are gonna hate. I have had nothing but SUPERIOR SERVICE! The dude at the counter knows his regulars by name. They are always friendly and fast. This is the neighborhood Chinese place that you want to go to every...
