This was my first visit to this nice, quaint, clean restaurant. Apparently the people at our local refineries order food from them often, that's how my husband found out about it and took me there on Saturday.
The restaurant is small, but the Taste of the food is delicious! It is cooked outside on a BBQ station and boy was it yummy. The portions were good. I wanted to taste the brisket, my favorite, but they were sold out of it. I opted for the 2 meat plate. It was so much food that I took it home and had it for supper the following day.
I suggested to the owner that he should bottle his BBQ sauce. It is the best that I have had that is not homemade. He told me that his father opened that in 1994. After his passing, his mother took over and ran it for a while. He was always involved during his childhood years and reopened it in 2012.
I promised to do a review on his Multi-Generation Family Restaurant here on Google to help bring awareness to it.
While we were there, many patrons came and left, picking up orders to take home. One lady and her 90 something year old Mom, sitting in a car outside upon our departure, told me that she drives all of the way from DeQuincy, north of us, to pick up their food and take home. Now that's saying something within itself.
I took pictures of my husband's plate 2 meat sausage and chicken which with the dinners includes a good proportion of dirty rice. Baked beans and potato salad are the other sides included. I loved it all, as did my better half.
I had the 2 meat plate and chose the Ribs and Chicken. It was sooo good. We plan on going back. Next time I'll review the Brisket. I took a bite of husband's sausage so that I could attest to the taste and it was wonderful. It wasn't too spicy, but spicy enough. Not the type that burns your mouth when eating.
They have a handicap bathroom, so the place is handicap accessible.
The staff were all very nice, attentive and helpful when I asked various questions.
There is a flat screen tv on the wall, and they will change the channel to suit your needs. We had them leave it on a ball game.
They normally have homemade Lemonade as well, but were out when we went in, so we opted for a bottled soft drink.
I should state that we were out running errands and I was starving, so it was about 2 in the afternoon, an unusual time to eat for most. We caught them during the "off times" which is sometimes really good to see how a place runs.
We will be going back to enjoy more of the Wonderful Food Cooked with Excellent seasonings. Google always asks about high chairs, and although I did not see any, they may have one or more in the back. I cannot say so I'd call ahead and check, in case you have children, prior to going.
Their parking lot is dirt, but it's hard packed and I believe that a wheelchair can easily make it to the door. My sis-in-law was in a hoveround until her death, so I keep an eye out for those things, and so that I can inform the public of what is available.
I took a couple of photo's of the outside of their building, too, including their sign so you can see it all. :) I also took different views of their dining in area, which is quaint, a bit small, but I honestly believe that most people call in their orders and pick them up. With us being the only dine-in at the time, we visited with one of the gentleman working there and we were treated like royalty which is unusual in this day and age.
Hope this helps ya'll,
Thanks for...

Plenty of food in each plate to full you up nice and well. I even bought a shirt from the place with the heaven on earth logo. Try this place out of you're hungry. Call in and order and they will have it ready when...
Read moreI have only been here once, and my review is based on that experience. The brisket was extremely dry, and sausage was overcooked. The dirty rice was also dry, and not very flavorful. I've heard such great things about this restaurant. My husband loves it. I'm hoping it was just an "off" day, and my next experience...
