Just Wingin It — Restaurant in Louisiana

Went from a 5 star to a 1 star in one meal. My son ordered chicken and waffles. He said this is how you can judge a restaurant in the south (it was his first visit) and boy was he right. This was $14.50 and listed on the menu in the section with the 12 oz ribeye so we thought it would be a "better" option. We were wrong. These waffles came straight out of a toaster. I recall making these myself before school. Leggo my Eggo! I have had better waffles at every hotel I have been to in the last 10 years. I told them that this was embarrassing. I was told it was due to cutbacks and time to make but they are still made for them. Again, per my vast hotel experience, it takes about 2 and a half minutes to make a waffle and it even dings when done so you can gather the rest of your food while waiting. I have only been here twice and after tonight I knew I needed to do a public review. My first visit was meeting friends on a Wednesday night for crawfish, beer and listen to the band playing. It was all great! Spicy crawfish, cold beer and a band that rocked the house! Not to mention we had a great server. 2nd visit was tonight. We had a busy day and before I knew it, it's 8pm and we haven't eaten yet. Since they are open til 9 and just around the corner I figured I'd just call in an order for takeout. I ordered the Ribeye dinner, the Just Wing in it pasta (Cajun Shrimp Penne) and some boudin balls. I pulled up there at 8:15, paid the cashier and my order was being brought out already (fast). I get home by 8:30 and everything is great! Steak cooked perfect! Nothing missing from order and it's all hot and fresh! I will definitely continue...

The people that took over from the previous owners still haven't learned how to run a restaurant. Called at 8:33pm for a small takeout order (closing at 9) and was refused to place the order.

Considering I live 3 minutes away this wasn't a huge ask. There were less than 10 customers in the place when I showed up in person 3 minutes later to air my grievance. If you want to go home early change your business hours.

When you charge $10.50 for 5 wings one would think orders within 27 minutes of closing would be OK.

I wish your restaurant luck. You're going to need it.

ETA 8/1/25: A new low for this restaurant. A 5 wing order that used to cost $10.50 and included fries, celery, and sauce no longer comes with fires.
