This has to be the most gringo Mexican restaurant I ever ate at. The staff is amazing and friendly. The kitchen is fast and there is plenty of room to eat. Now for the food. My steak was unseasoned. Nothing, just like the bland potato salad my neighbor Karen makes. I do have to give them some credit. They said they would charge extra for the white cheese sauce, so I consigned myself to melted cheese slices. However, I got nacho sauce, which was better than I hoped. When my chimichanga came out, there was an onion slice on a bed of lettuce and guacamole,oh, and a remoulade sauce. The sauce reminds me again of something my neighbor Karen would do. My wife ordered the flautas, and she said it tasted like taco bell seasoning, and the happy plate didn't make our friend sing Sheryl Crow's if it makes you happy. Finally, I think they forgot to add the tequila to...

Was hesitant in going from reading negative reviews but thought oh ....why not?! See, I'm picky as it is when it comes to Mexican food since I'm Hispanic and I know what good Mexican food is. But I have to say it was pretty good!!! We had the Bistec Rancho plate which is SPICY, SPICY!!!! I had the half order which was just enough. My husband had the full order.... a lot of food. So portion size is excellent. My son had cheese enchiladas, he liked them. I eyeballed some flautas that looked good too. I would recommend this place. And if you like spicy Bistec Rancho is the way to go; It had me sweating and opened up my sinuses. Service...

I was pleasantly surprising with Nicky's for it being a random choice when in town. The chips and salsa were decent with the salsa being refillable on the table and tasted homemade. The white cheese queso was good and didn't taste overly artificial. The lime margarita did taste a little overly saccharine and friends dining with me said the strawberry and mango margaritas were too sweet as well. There is a substantial amount of food served with each portion, so the quantity cannot be overstated. Even the half order of quesadillas came with a surprising amount. Overall, I was impressed with the quality and would...

I went to Nicky's yesterday after not going for several years. Nicky's used to be my least favorite Mexican restaurant. Not anymore! Everything was SO delicious, so perfect. My beans and rice were piping hot and delicious. I got the single order puffy taco and added a side of beans and rice. The puffy taco was perfect. I got mine with the white cheese sauce instead of yellow. I enjoyed the salsa as well. The service was wonderful. You won't go unnoticed. The servers are very sweet and super attentive.

Very clean establishment augmented by extremely friendly waitstaff (can't say enough good things about the staff). Salsa was 'so-so' and entrees were served as ordered and very hot. Portions were much more than generous- no one at our table of 6 was able to finish their whole meal. I'm holding back one star for food good taste of food versus great. We will definitely be back and would encourage you to visit Nicky's if you're in town. I'm not a margarita fan, but I hear theirs are top-notch.

I was on my way back from New Orleans heading home to the DFW area when I was in need of some food. I somehow happened upon this place. Being from Texas, I wasn’t holding out much hope for exceptional Mexican food in central Louisiana, but I was incredibly surprised. The refried beans are amongst some of the best I’ve had. I ordered the Bistec Ranchero which was perfectly prepared. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, as well as the decor. If I lived near by, I definitely would be a regular.
