We stopped by Poche’s on the way home from Key West. We were looking for some authentic Cajun food. We ordered the seafood platter comes with shrimp & catfish lightly battered was seasoned to perfection with white rice, we substituted the white rice for the rice dressing sides we got baked beans, potato salad and crawfish ettouffe Im not sure what they put in those baked beans but we sure did want more of it. It was enough for my husband & I to share. The flavor of this food was to die for! It’s authentic Cajun food for sure. They have a hot table set up, the line was long. The line moved pretty fast to be honest so don’t get discouraged by the line, the food is definitely worth the wait! They have plenty of desserts, we had to be strong not to buy them bcs then we will eat them all. You defiantly need to try this place, you will not be disappointed! This is a hidden GEM, you’ll be glad you came. And believe me you’ll be back as we will as well.

We have been here several times before but this time was not a good experience. The crawfish etouffee tasted great as usual but on the way out there was a huge dead roach on the floor in front of the food counter. I told the girl serving and she smiled and said ok. The etouffee I just ate wasn't tasting too good anymore. I was at the boudin counter for 10 minutes waiting on my husband to finish gossiping with the table onside of us and the roach was till there. The roach was in plain sight, if she could ignore it what else could she ignore that might be in the food. I finally told another girl at the boudin counter and she handled it quickly. My husband got cracklin for on the road snacking and it is a mess. It is burnt, dry and in shavings instead of the crispy awesomeness we usually get here. I am giving it 2 stars. The meal tasted great but the roach and the crackling are both disgusting.

Piccadilly-style service in a hometown setting with awesome food. Daily lunch specials. Ate lunch from here 3 out of 4 days in the area (don't judge me) and individual hot meals ranged from $12-18 average. Community style seating (you may be sitting at a long table with people you don't know) or takeout. Get in line, get your food, find a seat. Choices change each day. The plates were packed full and I took some of my meal to go each time. Plus, the meat market is on site and you can grab some things to cook at home later such as fresh sausage, stuffed chickens, etc. This will be my stop every time in Breaux Bridge from now on. *pictured is a half & half plate: crawfish Etouffe over Rice with Fried shrimp, fries and potato salad plus bread. *RECOMMENDED: Hamburger steak (best of anywhere ever been) and BBQ chicken.

My husband and I just moved to the Breaux Bridge, LA area, and although we both fancy ourselves as "foodies," we continue to be amazed and impressed at the restaurants - and now THE market (Poche's, that is) - that are in this beautiful South Louisiana town. I do not believe I have ever been anywhere with such an incredible fresh (refrigerated) meat selection, as well as frozen ... and everything any carnivore's heart could possibly desire.

But we not only bought meat to take home, we could not leave there without eating some boudin in their restaurant. Personally, I have never been a huge fan of boudin; my husband is. This is the first I have ever had that actually made me want MORE. We had their regular pork boudin, as well as their seafood (or maybe it was crawfish?) boudin while we were there, and it was so incredibly good that we: a. bought more to take home to cook with/for friends, and b. asked the people there exactly how to prepare it - which they kindly told us in detail. (The staff we met were Zane, Kallie, and Ava ... all so genuinely nice, friendly, and helpful.)

I just cannot say enough about this place. I suspect we will not buy meat of any variety anywhere else as long as we are in driving distance of Poche's. And we certainly intend, over time, to try out the many, many items they carry which we have never had before! It is like a candy store for...

06/29/2025-Well, this is the SECOND TIME we have picked up plate lunches and NO MEAT! Have to drive back at lease 6 miles to go get new plate lunches. Even calling and talking with the mgr's does not do any good to improve their staff's service. This time Ms. Mattie told me they have camera's set up through out the place, but obviously it is not to pay attention to their staff's work. They are TOO DISTRACTED TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY ARE SERVING IN EACH PLATE LUNCH! She even admitted that a few of them have only been working 1 month. To me, that is not an excuse, if they are not trained properly and supervised regularly they will amount to always making mistakes. My husband was told that they had run out of cooked chicken and were waiting to put the meat when it was cooked. How hard could it be to not close the lunch container UNTIL EVERYTHING IS IN IT, REALLY! Or set them ASIDE UNTIL THEY HAVE EVERYTHING? So, if you go to "PICK UP" plate lunch(s), open them at the counter where you pay so you can check to make sure it is what you ordered and that...
