This food was VERY disappointing. The dirty rice tasted like celery and onion not to mention the rice was clean looking and had a weird seasoning on it. The red beans was watery af and had only a quarter piece of smoke sausage (cut the smoke sausage and then cut that piece into four pieces) not to mention the mystery item they called potato salad was unidentifiable. The ribs tasted like they had been cooked in smoke sausage water and then drowned in bbq sauce...and then put in the oven, the ribs were almost candied. The jiffy cornbread was the most decent thing on the plate and the ish was dry and stale. This was my first and very last time here. This food is just disgusting. No other words describe it..oh yeah they had like 40 flies everywhere. Y'all can have this.

This food used to be really good and worth it. Idk what they changed but the quality and presentation of the food is not the same. This cabbage tasted burnt and over cooked. Yams are quite plain. The cabbage does not seem like it is fresh at all. Seems like it had been made and just reheated. The cornbread is mid. Everything is going down hill. I tried to give it another chance after noticing things are different a whole year ago. but I wonโ€™t be supporting this business anymore.

If I could give zero stars I would. My husband and I visited on Thursday after hearing this was the place to get great soul food. The food was very skimpy and overally sweet like everything has sugar added. The ribs were dry. We were very hungry but we threw away most of it after spending 17 dollars for "kiddie-size plates". After calling to notify the owner, Larry, he had the audacity to tell us to send him a photo of the plates. First of all, I make a damn good living in healthcare and so does my husband. We don't have to lie about your food or the portions. Y'all better cherish that $17 you kept because we will NEVER patronize your business again. I will tell everyone I know including coworkers that your business is whack and your ethic is unprofessional. Is this how a black establishment operates and treats its customers? Anyone reading this I am telling the truth about our experience and from now on will not be swayed by hearsay nor because it's...

Small but cozy and a decent atmosphere if you want to grab a few friends and eat some delicious "home- cooked" food and a ๐Ÿธ there's even daiquiris tempting you to try them out while you wait. My first visit was semi tainted with the claustrophobic feeling of being surrounded by too many ppl due to a school field trip. So many students taking up majority of the seats forced the normal flow of business to congest into one small space. But once i took a few deep breathes and made it to the counter to out my order in...it was smooth sailing from there. I ordered the gumbo a daiquiri a pork chop the pasta and potato salad and catfish ...i believe. Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS. I sat at the bar sipping a GREAT daiquiri while i waited the short time it took my food to come out. The gumbo was definitely worth it. I plan to go back and visit. To see what the dine in experience is like. It was too crowded that day. I...
