White House Coffee — Restaurant in Louisiana

All opinions/reviews are my own.* My family and I try to support small/local business as much as we are able. This is an incredible coffee shop; everything about this business is lovely. I first discovered this when I was going to my doctor's office in that area. I was so surprised there was a coffee shop in that area but super excited. My husband and I went in together for the first time and immediately we knew we would be regular customers. The shop itself is gorgeous- a beautiful pergola outside with outdoor seating so you can soak in the sun while sipping your coffee or eating your gelato. Walking inside, there are "Jesus and coffee" signs and the sweetest words of motivation throughout. It's such a lovely and relaxing environment; it is decorated so beautifully and relaxing. The couches and all the seating make it feel like you are in your home just having coffee in the family area; I could sit on the couches and sip coffee and read for hours. They have coffee and traditional coffee shop drinks and also homemade gelato- and it's absolutely delicious. Before jumping ahead, I must also say that the staff here are so wonderful- every young woman that has assisted my family and I is always smiley, friendly and they sure know how to make their drinks. I always stick to an iced caramel latte or white chocolate mocha latte with almondmilk and the drinks are always strong and delicious. I would label my husband and I the standard "coffee drinker." We seek local coffee shops that make excellent quality drinks at a fair price (mainstream coffee companies are not for us). We are always looking for small business coffee shops with amazing customer service and this business is definitely one of those shops. Their menu is very diverse and they really can cater to diverse diets, preferences and special orders. I also LOVE when they have their seasonal drinks- which they always do. My husband always likes trying their new drinks. I brought my nine year old for some gelato and he loved it- we each ordered the Fruity Pebbles gelato-WOW. It's amazing. Very great choice for children. If you want a very family oriented, relaxing, warm atmosphere to sip your am coffee or a place to meet up with your girlfriends for an afternoon pick me up- please visit White House Coffee! My only request is when/if WHC is able to expand- PLEASE branch out to Slidell also!!!!! Really nice locally owned coffee shop. The coffee drinks are really good here. I love that you can taste the coffee in the drinks unlike a lot of places that you only taste flavoring. The owner was there when we stopped in and she was great to talk with. She knows here coffee and selects a small batch roaster for her beans. It May have been the time of day that they were running very light on things to snack on and the coffee? I have yet to find a decent cup of Java that doesn’t taste like colored water! Truly a dark roast coffee should have a vibrant, strong taste without the beans tasting as if it’s been burnt - but even burnt roasted coffee beans would have been better than the weak coffee that I had.
