Ebenezer's is beer bar with a great selection but with ridiculous prices and quality that doesn't keep up. I get inflation, and while I was pretty alarmed to find beers for $12-14ea and burgers $22-24 ea, I accepted it because I assumed -- based solely on word of mouth and strong reviews -- that I was in for a premium food/service experience....nope. Not here. Let me explain:

They don't let you taste beers before ordering. Again, this is something I'd expect from a top end beer bar, and doesn't align with the pricing.

Then there's the $24 burgers me and my party of four ordered. I've never paid this much for a burger before (even during the inflationary times the owner describes) so I assumed I was in for a really premium treat...not here. Prepare for about a 4oz.patty with two slices of bread, and no special flavors or seasoning. Two in my party substituted beef for the portabella mushroom burger. We were appalled to find about a 3" diameter mushroom patty, still $24. The fries were soggy and unseasoned.

They have a good sized covered outdoor dining area with a nice view. However, it would be a lot better with ceiling fans; prepare to roast if it's a hot day.

I encourage the owners to really consider their model here. Premium prices should go hand in hand with premium quality and service, and Ebenezer's missed the mark here. I will be interested to see if they survive. Regardless, however, I cannot in good faith recommend this establishment to anyone...

I've been here a few times over the years. I went back yesterday with my family after a hike at Sabattus Mt.

Excellent beer selection and the food is typically tastey, but it's expensive (ex. $8 for an Allagash White, $16 for a sandwich and frites, entrees reaching into the $30-40 range).

This time around was disappointing. We split our dinners to be able to get a beer and stay within budget. Our server was kind and attentive but very unknowledgeable. She didn't know anything about the beers we ordered and handed us the wrong ones (luckily we knew enough about beer styles to know they were swapped). Her total misunderstanding of the menu items lead us to order an extra order of frites for the kids, only to have their meal come with a pile of frites already. My wife and I split a ruben, which was rubbery and bread was extremely soggy. The kids got less chicken tenders than the server said would be on the plate. It just annoyed us to the point that it spoiled our experience. To boot, staff were talking to each other in front of customers about business-related stuff that really should be talked about behind the scenes because the content of their conversation didn't look good for the business.

I'm a working-class beer lover with limited funds, so it's important to know you are going to spend at least $30/person for a beer and a sandwich. I'll go back again knowing what to expect price-wise, but I hope the staff will be more knowledgeable and...

Lovely hidden gem in Western Maine. Ended up stumbling upon this place by accident after doing a big hike at pleasant mountain.

If you are looking to eat there, make sure to call ahead if you do not already have a reservation! We typically go much earlier in the night, but once it starts to get to dinner time, the place is in high demand and there is limited seating.

The beer selection is of the highest caliber. My jaw hit the ground when I realized how many Russian River beers were on. Tap when we went, not just available by a bottle.

There's a lovely little European style beer garden that sits just outside of the porch style seating. It overlooks the golf course, very much reminds me of having a beer in a back garden in London.

The wait staff are very nice and if you are lucky enough to get to talk to the owner, He's extremely knowledgeable about beer and really great to talk to.

I saw a few other reviews that were not as kind, but I think a lot of Americans don't really get the concept of a pub landlord. When you're at Ebenezer's, you're at his house. It's important to be a respectful guest.

We went there at the start of summer 2025, and then we loved it so much I think I've been back like four times this summer and I'm sure I'll be back a few more times before it gets too cold.

When we have people visit internationally, this is going to be a place...

It's the only place around which is why it survives all I can figure. 14.00 for a beer is quite expensive in my opinion and it's not a large beer. It was a really good beer though, just too expensive for what it is. Food is expensive and for that price you think it would be delicious or at minimum consistent at the same table for the same item. Deserts are good. If your already there and paid so much for beer and food you might as well try the desert. All homemade and pretty decent. Especially when compared to the meal itself. Staff is pleasant. Food was not great. The calamari was fresh but had so much greese floating on the plate it looked like a sauce (you can see it in the picture). If they would have drained it properly it would have been to die for. My fish burger was cooked perfect but my moms fish for fish and chips was over cooked and possibly not fresh, tough and old tasting while mine was flakey and perfect cook. Odd how q piece is good and the other terrible of the same fish at the same table 🤔. It's like food roulette lol. 32.00 for 3 sausages and mushy saurkaut and overcooked potatoe croquet....Definitely not worth it. I sure wouldn't go back.

We were bike riding on gravel around Fryeburg and found this place. Lucky for us we were here on a day that they were open. Limited hours during the off season, so plan accordingly. It's a really special place. Located just off the main road adjacent to a golf course, Ebenezer's has an incredible selection of beers on tap and in the bottle. Their Belgian offering in particular is staggering. They have kegs that have been aged for over ten years, they tap them, and when they're gone, they are gone. The food is very good, pricey, but hey this is a one of a kind joint. Servers were friendly and the place just has a nice laid back vibe. They have an outdoor beer garden, and my guess that the in season, they are quite a bit busier. I had an Old Rasputin Imperial Stout draft that paired perfectly with my fish and chips. It you're in the area, drink beer, and they are open - it's a must. We started our ride the next day in a nearby parking lot, but sadly they were closed that day.

There is so much hype in the beer world surrounding this place that I thought there was no way it could be that good. Not only was it that good, Ebenezer's managed to exceed my expectations. This place is indeed one of the best beer bars in the world! When we arrived, we opted to sit in the seating space just outside of the bar area. The staff was super nice and super knowledgeable. The draft list was amazing, the bottles in the cooler were more impressive on their own, and the food was great. Most of us opted for salads. One person had the cheese steak and really enjoyed it. About halfway into our meal, the owner of the restaurant walked over with a 2010 bottle of Cantillon. He opened it and did a toast with us. Pictured is the bottle which was fabulous and also an awesome gesture from a great guy. If I could give this place a 6 out of 5, I would. What a great way to spend a beautiful summer afternoon in rural Maine. We will definitely be back!
