What a disappointing experience. I’ve been coming here for over 20 years and don’t plan to come back anytime soon. My friend and I decided to go to the Limeport for a drink and an appetizer around 2pm. First red flag is when the waiter told us he didn’t know what a spicy margarita was and no, they couldn’t make it. (This young man was tall, dark hair w/ glasses). Fine. We ordered something different. Second red flag is when we ordered the burrata and it took FOREVER to come out to our table. Let me also add we were the ONLY two people sitting outside at the time. When we inquired about our appetizer our waiter came out to tell us they were busy getting ready for Mother’s Day. Did I mention we were the ONLY people sitting outside? Our appetizer finally came out which was basically a hunk of cheese and tomatoes and two VERY tiny pieces of bread. It was almost laughable. My friend and I knew this would not be enough for us to share so we ordered the pierogis which was a special appetizer. Our waiter came back out a few seconds later to say they were all out. Really? In the middle of the day? My guess is they just didn’t feel like making them. When we asked for more bread instead he said ok, and quickly added it would be two dollars for two VERY tiny pieces of bread. How did he know that? My guess is others have complained about the same thing. I talked to the bartender because there was no manager there, only to find out she could have made the spicy margarita had our waiter bothered to ask her. Oh, and I will also add that the indoor dining was not crowded at all either—it was 3pm. Limeport, do better. If you can’t give your guests good service before Mother’s Day—don’t open. What a disappointment. And please train your waiter better in his...
Read moreThe Limeport Inn is an absolute hidden gem—a beautiful and charming throwback to the kind of classic, distinctive restaurants that are becoming all too rare these days. From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed by a warm, intimate, and rustic atmosphere that feels like a step back in time—in the best possible way. The gorgeous outdoor patio adds to the charm and makes it perfect for any season.
It’s easy to see why this place is so popular with regulars—it has a ‘Cheers’-like vibe where everyone feels welcome, and the sense of community is palpable.
The entire experience is top-notch—from the food and drinks to the outstanding service and ambiance. The menu is consistently excellent, offering great value without compromising on quality. If you go on a weekend, the Prime Rib is a can't-miss—always cooked to perfection and incredibly satisfying.
The staff is another standout feature. They’re genuinely friendly, attentive, and make the experience feel personal and memorable. Fawn has served us on multiple occasions and continues to impress—she's warm, welcoming, professional, and an absolute pleasure to interact with every time. Angela was our server most recently, and she was equally wonderful. After just a few visits, the team starts to recognize you, adding a warm, personal touch that makes you want to keep coming back.
With its rich history (circa 1842), The Limeport Inn isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. If you haven’t been yet, it’s truly a must-visit. And once you go, chances are you’ll be planning your return visit before...
Read moreThe Limeport Inn is one of my favorite go to dining establishments. The reason I like it so much is that you can order from the bar menu (but eat in the dining room if you choose) or you can indulge in fine dining fare. You can get it all here, from burgers, pizza and Shepherds pie to rack of lamb and Chicken Chesapeake. You can dress casually or wear a designer suit if you wish. There are several dining rooms as well as a very long bar with enough room to eat at the bar or at one of the cozy tables in the Pub Room. There is also a beautiful garden area in the rear of the building with numerous tables with umbrellas, a delightful fountain and evening lighting. The Limeport is an old country Inn with beautiful stone walls inside and out. Everything is made on the premises from scratch with locally sourced ingredients, some of which are grown by the owner and his family members, including the eggs which are compliments of the family chickens. The excellent homemade desserts are not to be missed including the locally made creamy ice cream. The proprietor is a very environmentally conscious individual as I noticed he did not use plastic straws but rather the cardboard variety I remember from my childhood. I think they also do composting but am not totally sure about that one. The waitstaff is very friendly and professional but down to earth, making you feel welcome and relaxed. I can’t think of one negative about The Limeport Inn. I...
