My son and I went for Easter brunch/dinner. We opted for the sit down dinner rather than the buffet. I ordered the duck, he ordered the lamb. His lamb looked more like roast beef, drowning in some kind of sauce, I was thoroughly convinced that it was beef and not lamb till he made me try it. I detest lamb but the flavor was unmistakably. My duck was so ungodly dry that I used every bit of sauce that was on the plate to compensate for it and I barely ate half of it there! Needless to say the leftovers were thrown out at home. My chocolate mousse was covered in an oily, cool whip like cream which the server stated was "homemade" it was heavy, oily and overly sweet. As a baker, I know homemade whipped cream and that wasn't it. My sons clam chowder tasted like it came from a can, he liked it but again it did not taste homemade like the server boasted it was. Our bread basket had the smallest smidge of butter, not enough for even the two of is let alone the four rolls. Dinner took more than 3 hours from start to finish and then on top of it, I was over charged $10 for my son's dessert which should have been included in the cost of his meal. I was so eager to leave, when the server brought the check, I just handed her my debit card without even looking. It was only after the fact that I noticed. I emailed the restaurant to inform them of the poor quality as well as being over charged and received an email back apologizing and asking for my address so they could rectify things. I received a $25 gift certificate. Not to sound ungrateful but when my bill was substantial (dinner for two, I had two cocktails, we had an appetizer and my dessert was not included in the price of my dinner), I was overcharged $10....receiving $15 to "rectify" said situation is a slap in the face. The whole experience was terrible all around, even the follow up...

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner last evening at the Bay Pony Inn. We enjoyed both the food and atmosphere. I had a great lamb shank, the best I have had in years.
What I did not like was that when I asked for a wine list of the wines sold by the glass, the waitress said that there was no list and that she would have to verbally tell me. I said that I would like a written menu of the wines offered and their prices and she said that there was none.
Between work and family, I eat out in restaurants a little over 125 times a year. This is the first time in several years that I encountered a restaurant not having a list of wines available by the glass and the prices thereof.
I do not respect the very few restaurants that do this (now including the Bay Pony Inn), because I want to know both the available wines and their prices, and I don’t want to have to ask for the prices. I have been told over the years that the few restaurants that do this do so to increase their wine sales because most people are too embarrassed to ask about the prices.
I do not like this business practice. When I order anything in a restaurant, I want to see the price in writing. I do not want to be billed a higher price later because “the price in the computer was changed,” as I have been told before at other restaurants. This business practice is not consumer friendly.
In my case, I am hearing impaired. This business practice is unfair to people with hearing impairments like me, and the Bay Pony Inn does not seem to care.
Everything else was great.

Read moreI was in the area for the weekend & a friend had told me about the Bay Pony Inn. The parking lot was a little light so I was a little nervous about that. I went to the bar and they had a guy playing keyboard and singing. The bartender introduced himself as Mark . I asked for a moscow mule and he said unfortunately they don't have ginger beer nor do they have the copper cups. No big deal. I had planned on having either the Filet or the short rib. Mark said he's not a filet guy so he couldn't give a recommendation. I asked about the short rib and he said that's not on the menu anymore. He said if I like porkchop, I should really give that a try, although not what I was planning on, I took his advice. The BEST porkchop I ever had. Even other patrons asked how I liked it as they had all tried it and loved it. The only thing I did not like and that's my fault was the Lyonnaise potato, I didn't know what that so I should have asked for mashed potatoes. The entre comes with Gorgonzola, I asked Mark to put it on the side and I tried it with and without. I think I preferred it without the Gorgonzola. Very quiet atmosphere at 7pm on a Friday but I will probably be back. My only advice to the owners: 1. Update your menu that is on Google. 2. The hours on Google were weird as it said you...
