River House — Restaurant in Lower Windsor Township

We ordered carry out but the inside was tidy and clean when I picked up our food. We ordered General Tso Chicken and Hunan Beef, both came with pork fried rice and we got crab rangoons and eggrolls as a side. The general tso and hunan beef were AMAZING, as were the eggrolls and pork fried rice. The rangoons tasted like they were overpowered by green onion, so they left a little something to be desired. Both combos came with a LOT of food and were far from scarce on the sauce, a huge plus! The hunan beef was the best my husband ever had; he let me try it and I was impressed! The beef was tender, the mushrooms weren't rubbery, the veggies were absolutely fresh, and the flavor was out of this world! Delicious! We both enjoyed the general tso's as well; we loved it! Between the two combos and 2 extra eggrolls we spent less than $20 and have leftovers, but only because we couldn't eat it all! This place is only 4 minutes down the road from me so convenience, as well as the previous google reviews, sparked interest in trying their food. We're glad we did! Even if we weren't just down the road, we think it's FAR WORTH going out of the way for! The lady who answered the phone to take our order, as well as the gentlemen who brought out our food, were VERY courteous! From what I saw inside, it isn't laden with traditional asian decor, but rather a simple, clean environment that I'd be happy to dine in. If I wasn't so close to home, I probably would have.

Update: they are still the best of the best around! They're fried chicken takes 25-30 min bc they fry it fresh but it. is. worth. the. wait! BEST fried chicken!

They have EXCELLENT quality food, fresh ingredients, and their fried rice is unbeatable! Friendly service, clean dining, large portions, and excellent food makes this my NUMBER ONE go to spot in York County for Chinese food. In the dozens of times eating here since they opened doors going on TEN years ago, I've NEVER waited longer than 15 minutes for food, whether dining in or ordering take out. I've heard a lot of bragging about the Chinese at Giant but it's so meh compared to River House! The Singapore Mei Fun, Royal Pad Thai, Teriyaki Beef, crab Rangoon, eggrolls, steamed dumplings, and Hunan Beef are all must haves! But their general tsos, sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and all the other staples are very delicious, too! River House opened doors the same month I moved into the area. We tried them right away and never stopped. Even with increase in prices, it is 1000% worth the extra cost for fresh food! We have never once had a poor experience there and the staff has always been very accommodating of our weird requests and...

Wow...what a pleasant surprise the RiverHouse turned out to be. My wife and I very rarely ever get to Craley, but we found ourselves there early afternoon on a Wednesday. I had vaguely heard about this place years ago so we decided to try some lunch. Their lunch specials are reasonably priced and the food was absolutely delicious. In addition to Sesame Chicken, we tried the Pad Thai Shrimp. Both were outstanding...very delicious and a beautiful presentation considering this was a lunch special. I wished we lived closer...but whenever we go to Lancaster County now, we will be adjusting our route home to Southern York County to go through Craley so we can patronize the RiverHouse again and try some of their other great-looking menu items. Our waitress by the way was very courteous and pleasant. Overall a great 5 star experience at the RiverHouse!...
