Had a late lunch today at Trophy's Bar and Grill, our first time ever eating at this establishment. Their new location is in the old Saints Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church on Saint Clair Rd. and that was our main reason for going: to check out the architecture of the building, the stained glass windows, etc. The stained glass windows are beautiful and looked to be well preserved. The building itself is cool, very much what you'd expect from a church in this area, nice and open inside, very high ceilings, really cool setting and nice to see the building being put to use after being listed for sale (I'm not sure why it is no longer a church, I don't know the history of it, I just know it used to be a church and now it is not). The setting was very peaceful and we liked it! The service was great, regretfully we didn't catch the name of our server but she was very pleasant and attentive. The food was very good and I felt especially compelled to post a review because of a prior 1-star review that was posted about the "disgusting food". Whenever I see a 1-star review that is completely negative and the person has nothing at all good, or at least neutral, to say about a place, I question the veracity of the statement. The owner replied to the "review" in a very professional manner and that really resonated with me, the fact that they took the time to reply to something very professionally while the review seemed like a "hit piece" and didn't seem like it warranted much, if any, of a response. For the record, I do not know anyone connected with this establishment, I just don't like to see a small business run into the ground for something that was more than likely a one-off problem, if there was even any problem in the first place. Social media is great in that it allows you to browse businesses and get a feel for somewhere with never having been there, but as with so many things, it is a double-edged sword that also allows people to post things that almost surely should have been handled in person or via a phone call. It was not stated that the reviewer attempted to resolve the issue prior to their post, and to me that's not fair to the business whatsoever, they should be given the chance to rectify the situation before being "put on blast" by someone sitting behind a keyboard. I ordered the Reuben sandwich not only because I like that sandwich in general, but I specifically wanted to see how it was here and I can say that it was delicious! Whenever we stop in again I will definitely order it (after having sampled some of the other tasty sounding offerings)!! We also had the toasted ravioli, fried pickles, a hearty hamburger, mac & cheese, and chicken tenders, and everything was delicious and served promptly. To top it off, our 2 1/2 year old daughter really enjoyed the food, and anyone that knows kids knows that they will most definitely let you know if something is not up to their standards and she was happy with everything she had/sampled! :)

I didn’t know they changed locations. This new location is a church. Way far far back down this long dark road. Parking lot is very tiny. Definitely bigger than the old location. This is my first try at their food and the wing were so good and tasty. They were spicy like I like & they had my nose running and eyes watering but the celery that I paid for wasn’t even washed you can see the dirt on them and they could of at least cut the ends off for presentation. This makes me wonder if they’re cleaning in the kitchen and using proper sanitation and healthy food prepping. Thats very important.

Located in a former Eastern right Catholic Church The interior and exterior are beautiful. Large u-shaped bar and plenty of seating. The wings and salads are really good and a step above your usual sports bar. 20 draft beers on tap is what pulled me in and I came back three more times before I went back from my stay in Johnstown. There is also a large detached building being utilized as a game room, I believe there are pool tables and such but I didn't go in.

Stopped in on the weekend to check it out. There was one girl hustling to try to serve everyone and I didn't get offered a drink or menu until I got frustrated and started to leave. The very intoxicated men next to me were getting great service though. I was then surprised to see a guy who was sitting at the bar drinking with a girl come back and start waiting on people? If he worked there it was extremely unprofessional to watch that girl struggle while he did nothing and if he didn't work there then I guess that would explain why he was so bad at pouring drafts. He probably wasted half a keg while I was sitting there. I don't know if it's worth giving it another chance when I can go to a bar with professional staff and...

Alexandria was the rudest server I’ve ever met. She’ll laugh in your face god forbid you even question where your food/drinks are after an hour, she was making comments about a patrons weight in front of other patrons, then when someone called it out we find out her intoxicated mother (who we thought due to her lack of comprehension and under the influence manner was a hammered customer) is the manager going off on someone for calling out her ignorant daughters behavior. Food is over cooked and the owner is too drunk to even care about his own place and how it’s run. The biggest joke of an establishment I wouldn’t even recommend people passing through on a starving emergency to come to...
