Crippled Bear Inn — Restaurant in Loyalsock Township

So I mentioned to a coworker that I was going to check this place out after work and he was flabbergasted while asking " how long have you lived here without going to the Crippled Bear?" So I lied and said 4 years even tho it has been 5. I arrived around 620 and found a seat at the busy bar on this Friday evening. I ordered a light beer and 3 localish IPAs, all which were cold and crisp:) The bartenders were friendly and had the efficiency of people who have worked together for a while. I looked at the menu and ordered the Bear Burger and on a whim added a side of the Bear Juice; that was the best decision I have made in a while. I commented to the bartender that if that burger was not meant to be dipped in the Bear Juice, that it should be suggested as an option. The burger was savory and cooked per my request; but dipping it in the side of Bear Juice was close to sublime. That might have been the best burger combination I have had in the last few years. I am looking forward to returning with other family members when the opportunity arises. The bar appeared to slow down around 7pm so if you are in town and prefer to eat after 7, I highly recommend trying out this hidden gem. The food was just what they needed. it was casual comforting and a great atmosphere for little kids and adults. being able to reminisce about the times they shared. They have always gone the extra mile for their patrons. My girlfriend and I have been here multiple times, and each time the waitress’s have been surprisingly and unnecessarily rude for seemingly no reason. The last time we were here, I’m pretty sure it was the owner who took care of us and she asked for our ids and for whatever reason she confiscated them on her way to retrieve our drinks (weird) and about 10 seconds before she came back with our drinks we heard someone who was more than likely on their staff literally yell “ DONT SERVE THOSE 12 YEAR OLDS ALCOHOL” .. safe to say we will never be coming back.
