Why is it so hard to get an order right? I ask for potato and egg plater, ham and egg plater no cheese on either with regular beans and regular potato on both. I also ordered one dozen corn tortillas and one dozen flour tortillas. Easy I think, nothing complicated! I got to the window and she tells me it’s $14 dollars and change. I repeat the order and she said yeah. Ok, so I wait for the order she hands it to me and I noticed no dozen flour tortillas. I look at the receipt and it wasn’t included on the order. So I wait a few minutes for her to come over so I can order the dozen flour tortillas. I’d like to say that was the end of this pitiful incident, but, I get home and I open the first container only to discover some sort of sauce on one of them. I open the other and I don’t see ham so I assume it’s the potato and egg. So I removed the sauce from the other and gave it to my daughter to take to work with her and I kept the other for later to have when I had a break. I got a text from my daughter asking what I had ordered because it wasn’t ham and egg and she asked what had been added. So I explained what I have here. I asked her what kind of egg she got thinking maybe she got my egg and potato. No, just plain egg. So I checked mine also plain egg. Seriously! I don’t understand how an easy order gets screwed up so badly. Next time I’m going to hold up the line till I CHECK EVERYTHING is as I ordered. I don’t care if y’all have time restraints. It’s not against the law to wait at the window if that is where I am expecting to pick it up. I suggest anyone ordering at the window to...
Read moreMoving here after living in Phoenix for 12 years, I struggled to find a go-to Mexican restaurant. Mexican food is definitely NOT my favorite cuisine and I can honestly say that chips & salsa is my favorite Mexican food.
When I moved here everyone at the office said that Jalisco's is THE BEST. I definitely disagree!! Jalisco's is WAY over-rated but, if one was brought up in the Lubbock area sub-par food selection, I guess Jalisco's could be toward the top of the line.
Either that, or maybe I prefer a more Tex-Mex style. I don't know.
I do know that I absolutely LOVE Rosa's and have no one favorite food item. I'm not a cheese person at all so I order everything without cheese. I believe I taste everything better without a large glob of 'plastic' masking the flavors. I say 'plastic' because whenever you or a cafe cooks something with melted cheese, when it cools off, the cheese peels off like plastic. Imagine what that does to your arteries and intestines!?
I abolutely love Rosa's salsa bar and how they have the "mild, medium, hot" signs on each one so you know exactly what...
Read moreI have frequented Lubbock's Rosa's since their opening and this evening at 7pm I was extremely disappointed in the food I rec'd in the drive through. The "beef" enchilada had less than 2 teaspoons of meat filling, the sauce was good, the tamale was considerably smaller and more masa that anything, the tostada had a smear of a scant amount of strangely flavored refried beans (so thin I could see the tostada under bean juice), a few shreds of wilted iceberg lettuce and a scant sprinkle of chesse and it was so soggy couldn't pick it up. I opted for no rice so, I was give a second serving of runny strangely flavored refried soupy beans. No guacamole at all. The flour tortillas were good as always. The beans and tostada were inedible so, they went to the trash. I paid $12.87 for 2 flour tortillas, 2 teaspoons of meat filling, scant amout of enchilada sauce and a masa tamale and a beef taco with an ounce of filling. I have never been more dissappointed in Rosa's (4th and Quaker). I am sorry to say this but, I will not be eating with...
