The purpose of this review isn't to be negative, but instead, to prepare you for the dining experience at Twin Spruces Grill, a former dance hall and charming place, filled with history and live music. The place is owned by a brother, sister and the brother's wife. It's obvious that this is a favorite of locals. When you sit down, you are greeted, given a menu, and told that the kitchen is small, and for that reason, it will take a while to get your food. We were there about a half hour before I realized that nobody was eating, but that everybody was waiting for their food. However, the drinks come quickly, and the live music helps you to forget that you haven't gotten your food, yet. We were pleasantly surprised to see a rabbit hopping around. It was obvious that the bunny, named "Beast" was supposed to be there, because the live music and chatter of the people didn't bother him, at all. He also helped to make the wait for food less annoying. In the meantime, someone will come to your table periodically to let you know that "they are working on your order," "We're working on your order next," or "We're working on it now." All in all, we waited over 90 minutes for our food, which turned out to be pretty good. The next morning, we ran into a group of four people who were also there when we were. They waited two hours to get there food. Most people would think this would be a deal breaker, but if you know what to expect going in, which is why I'm writing this review, you will be prepared for a fun evening. One suggestion: You just might want to...
Read moreThe food was not good. It was frozen veggies from a bag (the cubed carrots gave that away) and instant potatoes in my $13 very tiny Shepard pie. My husband’s meal was just as disappointing. $14 for a tiny bland quesadilla with cheese and maybe a tablespoon of veggies in it. The wait was very long for our food and it was terribly overpriced for the quality of food and the portions. We got home and looked at the receipt more closely and realized we got charged for 6 sodas as well! We did not have 6 sodas. The atmosphere was great. The people friendly. Loved the music but we won’t be back to eat....
