Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Ludowici

With a food sanitation grade of an “A”, 98, I am very doubtful that the health department came in on a regular business day. Yesterday around 4 we came in to seeing a young teen age boy sleeping on the bench seat then getting up to move to the other side to lay down to sleep a little more, our visit was just under an hour and he was sleeping the whole time with back pack and all. While ordering food I noticed no one is required to wear a hair net or keep their hair nicely tucked away due to the young man running the drive through window. He already has very long hair but it is always unkept and all over the place, the grosses part about our visit was just the cashier’s extremely long nails he had but seeing him finally go clean a couple of the tables that were ALL dirty, food and spelt condiments were on every table until someone pointed out that he needed to clean the table. He avoided wiping down the sits all together and he acted like he didn’t even know how to clean the tables like it was his very first time in his life doing it but to say I wouldn’t come back to eat here again is probably this one reason altogether, who wears sanitation gloves while texting on there cell phone for 10-15 minutes or longer while using the same sanitation gloves to prepare people’s food and to cook? Yes this kid was wearing the same gloves he handles people’s food with to also handle his dirty phone that he probably carries to the bathroom and probably wipes his butt or whatever else and then handles his phone again with his sanitation gloves! It was just gross.I didn’t even eat my food. The health department in ludowici needs to do better and give better accurate grades! DQ is a health hazard, I can only image what they do behind closed doors or in places that can not be easily viewed. Do better DQ owners and staff!!! Long dark hair in my burger that seems intentionally put in because I don’t know how a cook could possibly miss something so obvious (long black hair on top of white cheese really stands out.) Don’t know why it would be intentional as I was very friendly and polite with all staff and didn’t have a complicated order. I went through the proper channels to let management know and asked for a response back. It has been well over a week now and no one got back to me or offered a refund for this $8 burger I couldn’t eat. This specific DQ needs training in customer service and sanitary food handling. I wouldn’t return here and I advise you keep driving down the road to Hinesville for your DQ, I’ve never had an issue there. We have visited this location many times. The food is always good, the service is fair, the drive through is always very slow. Tonight we visited and they had a sign on the door saying they close at 7 for a party. No problem. 30 minutes before that they began coming over and telling us they were putting our food in to go bags and asking us to finish up. The owner was not there. These kids have obviously never owned a business and have no idea how much their rudeness affected our future business there.
