Lily's Restaurant and Catering — Restaurant in Lumpkin

Never had a worse experience at a restaurant. Went in to get 7 orders for a local office in town. Upon getting there at 12:15pm, they were out of dark meat chicken. Ok, no big deal, we told them we had several orders that needed dark meat, and they said they were dropping some in the fryer. So, we wait 20 minutes for chicken to be done to fulfill our orders. Once the chicken was done, they called us to buffet to get our orders together. After fixing 1 (of the 7) plates, we were told that “we only said we needed dark meat for one plate”. When we told the lady that we said we had several orders for dark meat, we proceeded to be yelled at and cursed at by same staff member. So badly, that other staff members had to take the irate employee to the back room of the restaurant and another staff member had to apologize.

Needless to say, this restaurant has now lost over 25 customers from our office and their families as well. What a shame for one of the few restaurants that Lumpkin does have. So very unprofessional and unacceptable.

OH, and after all that, they...

We were passing by Lumpkin on our way home and my 4 year old had to pee. It was kind of close to lunchtime so we found Lily's. Thank God for tiny bladders.

Lily's was delicious. I got to sample quite a bit between my own order and the rest of my family's. My wife's fried pork chop was incredible. My own meat loaf was to die for, with the appropriate amount of ketchup glaze on top. We both ordered collards which was an A+ decision. My 8 year old was skeptical of his fried chicken at first, but he left Lily's a believer. Fried jalapeño cornbread was also on point and my wife was a big fan of the Mac and Cheese.

I hope it's not the last time we stop in, because there's a lot more I want to try, including the yams and the cabbage. Great southern food to feed your body...

What a yummy place!!!!

We are visiting and stopped by based on the reviews. To say this place is yummy is an understatement. The food was so AMAZING! It is cafeteria style serving and plenty of space to eat. We had a group of 10 for lunch and had everything from the fried chicken to the cheese burger. Everything was delicious. The beans were perfectly smoked, the fried chicken was finger licking good, the Mac n cheese was the perfect balance of cheese and pasta, the pork chop is one the best we have ever had, the green beans had great taste, and the sweet potatoes were like a desert on its own. The prices were great for the amount of food you get!

This place is a must stop if you are within 20 miles. We loved it! The people who ran Lily’s were really friendly...
