You have to go with a big appetite because you don't get small portions! The prices are more than fair for the portions you get too. We always go for breakfast, so I can't really speak on the lunch menu. Personally, I only get orange juice, hash browns, and a side of bacon. But my wife usually gets the "Haystacker". It consists of a biscuit, with hash browns, scrambled eggs, cheese, all mounded over top of that biscuit. Then it is all topped with about a half gallon (not literally, but allot) of sausage gravy.......YUM!!!
Their toast is hand cut and is really thick.
They fry their food in butter, which just adds to the yummy factor.
There's also a little store that sells candles, and "country setting" style items. There's also some baked goods to buy before you walk out the door.
This place is a hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. Don't let it's location stop you from trying it. Get out there and try it. You...
Read moreSo glad that we picked this place. It was absolutely so heartwarming and comfortable and very beautiful! Inside The bathroom was totally immaculate. I wish that I can give them bigger than a five star. Probably one of the best restaurants I have been in a long time. The food was excellent, came out in a timely manner. There's probably about 25 to 30 other people there and within 10 minutes we had our food. Drove four and a half hours to get down here. The whole place was absolutely clean. Nice Amish waitresses that were very pleasant and worked well together and bounced around. All our drinks are totally full all the time and that smiles on their faces. I think my waitress name was Carissa. I forget long drive. Little tired. Hope you do not sidestep from the beautiful service and quality of food you have. God bless you and your restaurant...
Read moreThe Country Store Cafe is one of our favorite local breakfast spots - and judging from the always-full parking lot, we’re not alone. The food is amazing, served up piping hot and cooked to perfection, prices are reasonable, and the staff are all incredibly attentive and courteous. The Breakfast Haystack is a must-try: a biscuit covered in scrambled eggs, hash browns, cheese and sausage gravy - and honestly everything we’ve tried there has been fantastic. They’ve also got a great selection of fresh doughnuts, pastries, pies, and breads as well as a charming country store. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but 100%...
