My brother and his wife, my wife and I spent the most enjoyable afternoon cooking and learning from Spuddy. I can’t recommend this true Cajun experience more. The time there was phenomenal. Spuddy is an addictive personality and full of amazing amount of knowledge. It was a complete hands on experience. We started by making andouille sausage. Next we all shared cooking jambalaya, shrimp and chicken gumbo and an okra stew. We then sat and ate it all and it was absolutely delicious. We had just dined at Commander’s Palace the night before. Certainly they were very different but equally enjoyable. We weren’t rushed at all. It’s all very informal but so informative. I’ve taken cooking classes all my life. This was one of the best ever and the price was very reasonable.

Stumbled onto this place, which I'm sure used to be a house, after visiting a Plantation nearby. I'm not very familiar with Cajun food cos I can't get it where I live. Had to try the Andouille Sausage and Chicken Gumbo which was so good I almost cried! After this I had gumbo (Creole style was all I was able to find) everyday until I returned home. They were all very good but this one was the best in my opinion. Oh yeah, my buddy had the baked pork chop with red beans and rice which he also raved about.

What are you even doing in NOLA if you’re not coming to cook with Spuddy?! We had such a blast learning about Cajun food and culture — then cooking it, and of course, eating it! Spuddy and Elaine were absolutely wonderful: fun, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in everyone. Thank you again for such a great time. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience!

The shrimp po-boy that I ordered was pretty good. It was filled with moist shrimp and a very soft bun.

However, I wanted to get the lunch special during lunch, and they ran out. They were also out of roast beef and chicken.

The restaurant is very nice. It is decorated with old pictures.

The po-boy gets a 5 star, but the restaurant gets 3 stars for being out of...
